GOT A MINUTE??

Your whole world could change..in just a minute..just a word..a look..a kiss..could stop your world..or change it forever..Never wish one moment away..cherish each and every second..

It didn't take as long as I thought it would..I thought it would take a few days..for the answer.But..I already knew the answer..in my heart..I could already feel something different. She just came into the room and said it..spat it out..like it was giving her this awful taste in her mouth..You're pregnant...In that minute..my fifteen year old life..was changed forever..

I stood there..waiting for them to get back..they told me..just a minute..but it already seemed like thirty minutes or more already..tick..tock..time was moving sooo fricking slow..where was everybody? Then a man in black..this black suit..asked me if I'm the family of the deceased..Me?..heck no..no way..not me..but in the next minute..as he is walking away..I realize..I'm the only person there..I am the family of the deceased..I knew that very minute..my husband was gone.

I swore I'd never have a dad burned computer..they could only lead to no good..but finally I conceded for the grandkids..got one.. for them.I found that it wasn't that bad..gave me things to do..on a long lonely night. Why don't ya internet date?..my friends say..sooo..I come upon this site here..I stay awhile. One day..I see that there word..Blogs..in that minute..my life was changed forever..because I came here..have met all of ya all..memories and things I have here..I will cherish the rest of my life.

What minute changed ya all's world?

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??

Or slower??

When someone comes along, gonna give ya some love and affection,I say..Get it while ya can.

What minute changed ya all's world?
I've had a lot of minutes change my world, but I'd say the most significant one was finding out I was unexpectely pregnant with an unplanned third child right after finding out my alchoholic unemployed husband had been cheating on me.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??
Clamming up and hiding behind my wall...

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??
Making decisions...

Or slower??
Making love

"Attitude is everything. Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, It's about learning to dance in the rain."

I can think of three for sure...

1) Asking my neighbor for a summer job, he pointed me in another direction that became my career and now my own business (of course, on the downside, the guy he hooked me up with now has a lawsuit against me, costing me tens of thousands in legal fees!)

2) At a wedding, a friend gave me the extra push to approach and talk to a certain young lady. That night had a very happy ending, if you know what I mean! (she later became my wife).

3) I got the famous "I'm pregnant" surprise as well. I think sometimes, that's just God's way of giving us a little push down life's path as well. I was considering asking for her hand...just dragging my feet like every other guy.

I would say (as I get older) that you should make fast decisions (just go with your gut instinct, or your heart). Then, take things slow and make the best of the direction your life takes (enjoy the journey).

What minute changed ya all's world? The last minutes on a fate filled day in December of 2003...the two kisses that took about a minute that has lastest so long...making me realize that you can have more than 1 true love...true soul mate.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute?? Under a minute...hmmmm....LOL, when I think about what I do good those things tend to take the longest. I guess I'm a slow poke!

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast?? Well, I can go fast when there is trouble or a scare in me....
Or slower?? ...but, it is usually best for me to go slow...then I can catch my mistakes.

What minute changed ya all's world?
Geez, there's been several of those...

1. When I was 19, and getting picked on at my first factory job (just like I had been picked on through school...I was the uncoordinated kid who was picked last for everything...). One particularly rough day, I finally complained to my lead person, who told me: "If people are picking on you, it is because they like you. If they didn't, they wouldn't bother. Give 'em shit right back!" I tried acting as if that were true, and, to my astonishment, found out it was! Far more useful advice than anyone had given me all through school!
2. When I was 23, and riding my motorcycle to Berkley to visit a girlfriend. A car blew a tire right in front of me, I slammed on the brakes (mistake!) and hit the back end of the car at 60. Spent a month in the hospital, still have a rod in my right femur, compromised knees and left wrist (not too badly, fortunately, but the knees are protesting more now that I am in my 50s), and the girlfriend wound up marrying another guy. But...when I got on a bike again, trained myself to go around obsticles in the road. This has saved my butt several times in the car on busy LA freeways.
3. Answering an ad in National Singles Register in the mid '80s by a woman to whom I am now married.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??

Falling asleep

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??

Driving to work....

Or slower??

Going home....

There are many such minutes in our lives, births and deaths being significant among them, but the most significant of all (for myself) are rather negative. Therefore I won't mention them here...

What minute changed ya all's world?
Every thing about my life changed in a minute one night. The night my husband had a masive heart attach and almost died. The night his brain was forever changed and would never work right again.
The day my brother told my they had found a brain tumor and they need to operate on him right away.
The moment the doctor told me it was cancer and I would need to start dealing with some things.
Yes there has been a few minutes alone the way.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??
making any decision needed.

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??
not always.

Or slower??
sadly not always.

Someday is today.

I very clearly remember the first time xgf looked at me and smiled. I didn't know anything about her at all, but I was gone...... (August, 1999)

I remember meeting my long distance relationship girlfriend at a party in Washington, D.C. and realizing that she was as attracted to me as I was to her .....(May, 1990)

I remember sitting on a rock about 10 feet away from the edge of Eagle Falls, at Lake Tahoe, and the rock being slick enough that I slid forward. The rock closer to the edge was slick too, and I kept sliding toward the edge.... and then I was over the edge. My father later measured the drop at 60 feet. I didn't break any bones, just a lot of internal organs were ruptured. (August, 1962)

Certainly I've never had anything as traumatic as either of your two minutes.....

I can't think of anything significant that I ever do that takes less than a minute.... I'm sure something will come to me later.....

I get impatient when things take too long... like in card games (other players take too much time figuring out what they're going to do), but when given a task, I tend to be very deliberate about it until I get comfortable enough with it that I can do it quickly....

You caught me by surprise on this one "huny"...
I come here because it's fun...upbeat...mindless...now you want me to be serious and think before I type...if I wanted to think I'd go to college...

What minute changed ya all's world?
Don't have just 1 minute...more like seven...5 kids, 2 grandchildren...each one reminds me how good life can be...how important my life can be...they've kept my mind young ...my body moving (I've got no business crawling on the floor...pretending I'm a horse, dog, elephant...except for the fact it makes my grand-daughter laugh)...they're failures and disappointments make life sad...they're successes and happiness make life good

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??
restroom break during football season...other than that, I don't move fast enough to get anything done in under a minute.

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??
If I go fast I usually get in trouble...speeding tickets...bodily injury...mindless mistakes...

Or slower??
If I take things slower - results are usually better...time to evaluate...figure things out...do the right thing instead of the easy thing...

Thanks for your blogging...always a pleasure to visit...always something new...I'll be back

What minute changed my world? Plenty. Top 5.
5. Sept 11, I no longer believe Our democracy is safe. We must fight abroad and here to preserve. VOTE.
4. My best friends death. Which I wrote a tribute to in my blog. It reaffirmed we are here for a limited time. We must enjoy every minute.
3. My first soul mate and love. She thought me that love in a relationship is a beautiful thing. Uninhibited and like nothing but that feeling matters. You can conquer the world.
2. My wedding day to my present wife. Who I can not see myself without. She means many things to me in my life.
1. My siblings death. I thought me life is too short and while it destroyed my world for years, it made me stronger in the long run.
What can I do in a minute. Tell someone I love them. Spend that time with my wife, family etc.

I do better rushed. Just love the pressure. Yes think quick on my feet better.

What minute changed ya all's world?

I can't think of anything - usually things take longer. However, I have often been in a dangerous situation and thought in less than minute I could crash/be run over/fall off a cliff and my life would be ended ....

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??

convincing myself not to do something even though I want to ....

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??

Anything I don't like doing I like to do fast but this doesn't always mean better !

Usually things go better when I do them slowly ....

Live with passion !

What minute changed ya all's world?
There have been many moments that stand out in my mind but I think that one particular moment made the most change. I was in the Navy and a group of us were asked to volunteer to do a project for a senior officer. It was one of those pivotal moments... I volunteered and as a result my whole career shifted it's focus. I am convinced that single moment is the reason I am where I am today.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??
On this one I have to agree with uhclemclone above... I can fall asleep in under a minute.

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??

No, I do things MUCH better when I do them slowly and carefully.

There are SO many moments that changed my life. Certainly the birth of my children.....and three grandchildren now. But I'd have to say that the birth of my first grandson was very significant. I was present.....and he had a problem at birth. That baby and I connected from the moment he took his first breath......and he lights up my life on days that everything else can seem dark.

What Minute changed my world?
When I was young dad had my life all planned out for me...I was a math major...I was going to work for IBM just like he did. I was a college prep student in high school....not allowed to take any frivolous courses. Then in the first year of University I had to take a 1/2 unit course...and they gave me a test, the Briggs Myers test. When I got the results back....in that minute I found out I could be ANYTHING and ANYONE I wanted to!!!
I don't work for IBM...I became an artist and do what I WANT TO rather than what others want. Dad never got over it!

What can you do in under a minute?
Tell some one you love them!! I think that is something that takes so little time but makes such a big difference. For what ever reason you have, tell someone in your life you love them!!

What minute changed ya all's world?

I guess 2 minutes, the phone call from my first GF announcing that she was having another man's baby (one of the only times in my life that I've even been stunned enough not to be able to think of anything to say) and the moment when a police officer appeared at my door to tell me my brother had died (my parents were out of state for a week so I was the only close relative in range). Funny how everything just seems to freeze and then start again.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??

Or slower??

I'm usually better taking at least a little time. I've never been much of the one for "do anything, even if it's wrong".

Hi Huny - Thanks for the insightful blogs.

I have been thinking about the minutes that have changed my world and there are many. The loss of my father and the loss of my second son are the most significant. As well as are the seconds of experiencing the quickening of someones awareness in situations that you have the blessing to observe - Whether it be watching the expression on the face of someone watching a sunset, or looking into the eyes of someone that you have kissed and knowing that kiss has taken his breath away - or looking into the face of a child when he or she is laughing. Each of these minutes for me change my world each and every day.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??
Prolly making decisions that also change my world!

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??

Or slower??
Depends on what I am doing! But mostly in these days... Slower is better.

The birth of my sons of course, and FOUR days ago the birth of
my granddaughter.
Being present when my father died of prostrate cancer at home-he was concious almost to the end speaking to me.

What minute changed ya all's world?
When I found out I was pregnant with my son--I was the happiest I'd ever been. There was nothing that made me feel so wonderful. Even though I was unsure of how my financial situation would be: I knew that I'd have the little life to brighten my spirits. I have three beautiful angels now and I know that I'll always have their love and they will always know that drive my being forever.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??
Making myself crazy!

Only when the situation requires immediate attenion.

Morning,MzHuny..Gawd..you look GOOD!!!!! Quite a blog...amazing how one small minute can change one's life...There are many minutes that changed my life..many in Nam..but the minutes I cherish the most are when my daughter and son were born..When my daughter was born (she was first)..I thought God was punishing me for all my evil ways..But she is the joy of my life, always has been, always will be..I saw my son born four years later..that was a time I'll never forget..the bad minutes was the loss of my mother, father and my two brothers..somehow you just don't expect loved ones to leave..you know that, too!!! somehow we go on..My "second MOM" will be gone soon..I know it's coming,it won't really be sudden.but sad nonetheless..But you are sooo right about friends..THAT'S what it's all about..without friends life would really suck!!! I thank God for all my friends!!! have a great day, my friend ..(our secret is safe with me ..LO

The minute I was born, changed the world as I would come to know it. Each minute afterwards has been treasured, locked in my memories, not one wasted, lost or regretted that I can recall.
AND each moment is blessed as I pass through time.

A profound "minute" that changed the world, as we knew it.

I remember nothing per say from that life. nothing good or bad. I had to start all over at 36.

There are too many to mention. A slew in my teenage years. As an adult I would have to say when my grandma died - when I ended my first LTR - when I found my oldest brother has full blown AIDS - when my sister in law died.

Probably the top 3 world-changing moments for me were:
1. When my father died (he was 51, I was 23).
2. When I got married.
3. 9/11/2001, when we finally got serious about WW4 (WW3 was the so-called Cold War).

The only thing do well under a minute is lose my temper.

Faster is rarely better than slower, within reasonable bounds.

Huny, My blog started out as a cathartic release for emotions I dared not show and things I could not tell any one else. Due to the annonimity of the internet I thought I would not be noticed, my mistake. Now I know that we are all watched and am more careful what I post but it is due in part that I am working on this story. this story is a slow process and it needs be. Huny I like most things slow more so when it is someone like you, one of those good lookin' ladies you want to spend time with, you just naturally want that to go slow.

What minute changed ya all's world?

Had to be the birth of my son, definitely. (the first second I saw him.)

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??

Nothing, that I can think of.

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??

Not usually. I'm a detail kind of guy.

Or slower??

Thorough seems to fit better with slower.

Take care Mz.

What minute changed ya all's world?

There have been lots of minutes that have changed my world along
the way..no doubt about it. Choices, also, that have changed my
life that if I had chosen differently, life would look very different.
It's all about choices...and then life and death issues oftentimes have nothing to do with our choices and yet what we do with what happens around us is a choice and that means alot in the big picture.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??
Breathing...that is about it. I can also die is that period of time. I think I've done it many times in this lifetime.

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast?? not necessarily

Or slower?? I eat very slowly given the opportunity...if that tells you anything at all and have had way more speeding tickets in my lifetime than should be allowed by the law.

Just a little food for thought.............
If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you...

Great post...you're absolutely right, life changing things happen in a minute...
Things that changed my world...the minute my first child was born...life was never the same..when my father got cancer and died...9/11- knowing we're really not safe after all.
So many little things.
These blogs too have really changed my world...and your's was the one that got me hooked. I never thought I would need a computer like I do! It's better than any TV I could watch and I have real friends here.

i am fortunate enough to have had many minute life changes. Some have been good. Some have been not that good. Good..When my daughter was born and then my son 4 1/2 years later. Sitting in the ampitheater at Carlsbad Caverns and watching the bats flight (exit) out of the caves. Then walking down till i was standing in The Big room looking in awe at all the formations. A few years after thatm Ridng in a jeep around the edge of Palo Duro Canyon in Amarillo Texas and marveling at the beauty of the Earth that God made. Recently, watching my daughter walk down the isle on her wedding day.

Not so good...getting a telephone call that my father was dieing from a heart attack then going to see him and two days later getting another phone call that my mother had just been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

i accomplish more when i don't rush and take my time.

What minute changed ya all's world?
When my wife said she would marry me.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute??
Belching my name

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast??
Or slower??
I like to start things out slow and take my time, increasing speed as needed for intensity of the experience.

"you're pregnant" is hard to hear at any age. I was 27 when I heard that...

What minute changed ya all's world? Two of them...the moment the judge said my oldest was my son forever and the moment my wee one cried and I knew he was really really real.

What are ya best at doing in under a minute?? Well...I can pee in under a minute

Do ya do things better..when ya go fast?? Usually do them just as well...but I can get more done.

Or slower?? There are some things that just need to be savoured so doing 'em slow just makes sense.

I'd have to say that my whole life changed when my grandkids got here. They live with me now. When I get home from work....2 sets of eyes light up, and 2 sets of arms go up. I can't even kiss mu husband until I get tiny hugs and kisses.

We'll leave the light on for you.

The minute that changed my life was the minute I was told I had MS. I knew as I drove home from the hospital crying that I would have to change my career, my lifestyle, everything. I knew at that moment that the pains in my legs and feet would never get better and that there was no way to continue working in the job I trained so damn hard for.

The best minute that changed my life was when I gave birth to my first child and she looked into my eyes for the first time. That was the best eye contact I ever had.

Bye everyone, it was a blast
