Sperm: Facts or Myths?

I have a question that I would like some responses to. Does sperm die or does it live when it exits the body? Now some say that it dies right away, others say that it lives but is useless, and the other I heard was that it lives and can still get women pregnant. Now please give me all of what you think, know, or believe.

I had heard that there were cases of women becoming pregnant long after their men had gone to war, and when DNA tests were done on the resultant children, they found that the kids were indeed those of the warriors.

The body becomes pregnant when it is ready to, and for at least part of the time, there is little you can do to prevent it, modern technology notwithstanding, as everything other than abstinence has a fail rate. There has been research that revealed that women have the capacity to 'hold' the sperm within their bodies until the appropriate time for contraception, and that that may just be when a new man comes on the horizon with stronger 'nesting' abilities. This would lead that man to believe the child was his, but again, DNA testing showed that the progeny was the direct result of a dead husband.

Read up on Genghis Khan, and his DNA being traced throughout the centuries, with the result of even Canadian and American men carrying remote traces of this specialized DNA in their systems 100's of years later.

This is not meant to be sarcastic, I promise, although I know it's going to sound that way. Ask your doctor. I've heard alot of things, but your doctor would know if it's true or not. If you find out the answer, let us know.Good luck
