The List Maniac!

Mood: Nostalgic

Does anyone remember the sloppy yet adorable male (SAM) Rob Fleming (another Rob - they must represent a certain archetype lol) in High Fidelity and his neverending Top 5s?

My five dream jobs

1. NME journalist, 1976 - 1979
Get to meet the Clash, Sex Pistols, Chrissie Hynde, Danny Baker etc. Get loads of free records - good ones too. Go on to host my own quiz show or something.

2. Producer, Atlantic Records, 1964 - 1971 (approx)
Get to meet Aretha, Wilson Pickett, Solomon Burke etc. Get loads of free records (probably) - good ones too. Make piles of money.

3. Any kind of musician (apart from classical or )
Speaks for itself. But I'd have settled just for being one of the Memphis Horns - I'm not asking to be Hendrix or Jagger or Otis Redding.

4. Film director
Again, any kind, although preferably not German or silent.

5. Architect
A surprise entry at number 5, I know, but I used to be quite good at technical drawing at school.

So, tell me, what are your five dream jobs?

1. A Major League Baseball Player
-As background for this, I played baseball for essentially my entire life (about 20 years) and was damn good. Long story short, I got thrown off my team by the coach and was into China (HK incl.) and chinese ever since!

2. Run my own business (which I am getting to eventually)

3. Be in a band that plays my music (I'm a drummer and have all sorts of tunes in my head which I've yet to get down on paper or in any kind of practice room

4. A full blown travel junkie (is this a job???)

Top 4 should be good enough Jaz

1. Supermodel...LOL
Shallow and cliche but I get paid tons of money to travel around the world (first class) and retire when I'm 30.

2. pro surfer/snowboarder

3. chef/restaurateur

4. chief editor of Vanity Fair

5. my current job

PS: What is DTT?

Interesting question. I would have to say the following:

(1) Wine taster - I do this anyway, and it would be great to actually get paid to drink vintage wines all day long
(2) Marxist Sociologist - Have to admire their tenacity...
(3) One of the Outlaws of the Marsh - who wouldn't want to hang out in 江湖?
(4) Bra designer - since I love researching them anyway (see if anyone can call me on where I lifted this idea from...

July, no, not shallow at all. I have always wanted to be a supermodel, or meet a guy who makes me feel like one! Oh chuck that idea, might as well meet a guy who IS a supermodel. There are quite a few people from the fashion industry who are on the site.

A male supermodel on the site? Is it you lagano? ; )

Right Jaz, we have a hard core fashion industry type member on the site that refuses to shag any guy who doesn't know who John Galliano. As pointed out by lagano in "Sick and twisted women in HK" lol
And I hope you'll meet a male supermodel who'll make you feel like a supermodel ; )

Hahaha...By far the best blog I've read in weeks here! Kudos Team !!
(There are so few of us on this blog that i feel its more appropriate to call us a team; yes, i enjoy taking some liberties here)

Jaz - not so sure when i'll post a face picture to back up my not-so-flattering white CK picture. As for the before/after on HG, I'd go with the About a Boy stage...tho not sure if that was before or after.

July - I've got to say this is the honest reason why i left one of my picks blank. I knew someone would have a better answer than i could think at the time!! SO, my number 5 pick....

5) Professional Snowboarder. - I do ride now, bt not much as HK's snowfall has been a consistent disappointment. But I'd love to ride for a living...Thanks July!
