Short and punchy or long and philosophical?

I am referring to blog posts. And what about the font size? Some posts are short, and others are fairly lengthy. Then sometimes, the font is an unusual size…

I find that depending on my mood, or to be more precise, the lateness of the hour, blogs that are written in very large font sizes very difficult to read, and it makes it even more difficult if they are especially long.

I had a comment on my blog from a person who I guess had a bit too much alcohol in him, who said that he really meant to read my blog, but found it was too long, so he would come back later. LOL

Fair enough, I know what you mean.

What do you use as your guide to pick which blog you will read?

I pick using a combination of whose blog it is, if it seems to have an interesting or unusual title, if it is a person’s first blog entry or it if is in a language I will be able to understand (some I don’t get at all). If I go to a blog and it look completely illegible, I may not stay to read it. If the pics look good, I will more often than not read the contents, even if it is a crap title.

How do you all choose which blogs to read?

Well I have already told you why I read yours and it goes for everybody else's too

There has to be intelligent thought there. It may be very dirty but hey if it is well-written then I'll read it with relish. If it is badly written then I'll hot foot out of there fast. There are few of those I've seen so I have many on my Watch Blog list and I do remove some for housekeeping reasons mainly due to long periods of inactivity.

Yours I put on WB immediately. Obvious quality writing as well as stunning.
Ty Dusty - I have yours (and a heap of others) on WB too.

I agree - good writing is always a huge plus.

Hugs

1. Interesting title
2. Extra likely if written by a woman
3. If its too long I will read the first line or two then decide if it's worth continuing
4. If it's a poem or erotic fiction I'm outta there right now

I like both; as long as it's worth reading. If you're going to make it long - keep it interesting. If it's short & sweet - you have to say a lot with a little. For me it's mostly the level of interest it generates and maintains while reading. As for my stuff - I don't erlly give much thought as to how long it is.

Hell, if you look at my stuff you'll find a lot of it to be long winded. I post mostly as an online diary. Whatever I feel like writing I write. I try not think too much about how long it is. When I feel like I've vented enough, or covered the topic sufficiently I quit writing.

Hmm. Okay. I find that I also tend to decide by the first few lines on very long posts. But often, I will mark a post to go back to if it is long, and I am not in the mood to finish reading.

Your blog seems to have been going for a long while, I will stop by and check it out.
