I know that there are many books out there that claim to reveal the meaning of dreams. My question is this: do dreams really mean anything other than revealing main themes? For example, feeling out of control, feeling in control, feeling stressed, feeling afraid, feeling content, and so on.

What do you think?

I remember mine all the time. Sometimes I forget them soon after I have woken up, but I always remember mine.

I don't know if that is good or bad to be able to forget them. I will get back to you...

I think they reveal things about ourselves. Things that we may hide, or may be reluctant to face head on. My sister claims to have seen the future in her dreams but i cant say i have.

I have something in common with DustyWidget. No dreams.

The best way to interpret dreams is to ask yourself what the items, numbers, colors, etc. represent to *you*

I do tend to buy into the idea that everyone is a dream represents some aspect of you.

BTW - I, too, almost never remember my dreams. When I do... it is usually bad news!

I tend to believe that they represent subconscious thoughts of all kinds.

Supressed thoughts, issues the person is working through, fears, desires, hopes.

There is a reason, it's just analyzing what it is that can be difficult.

Understanding how your mind works, the mechanism behind your actions is the first step to uncovering your dreams.

Thanks for visiting.
I have friends who also claim to have seen future events, almost "prophesies" in their dreams. I have sometimes felt warnings in my dreams. I believe our minds are powerful and sometimes do try break through. Thr trick is to learn to listen. That is something I have not yet got a handle on.

PS - I love your pic

Sorry that you mostly only remember your bad dreams. I do tend to agree with you - I am certain they do mean something. I am not sure that we can say that if I dream about aomething that it means exactly the same as if someone else dreams about it. I believe you are correct in what you say about what it represents to me.
Thanks for that perspective.

As usual, your perspective is very perseptive, and requries some thought on my part.
I agree with you.

Thanks everyone - your input is helpful.
See ya,

I often wonder about that. Do you think it means that you don't dream, or that you simply don't remember?
