Protect our internet rights!!!! Everybody read this please!!!!

It has come to my attention that some of the giants of the internet service providers are actively lobbying, and so far winning, to repeal the first ammendment of the internet, net neutrality, which means everybody gets the same access. At&t, Verizon, Comcast and Time Warner want to control access to the internet on a pay for bandwidth basis. They plan to charge fees for bandwidth, the more you pay the faster people can access your website! This creates the most unfair playing field out there, and in my opinion may very well put an end to free services such as many of us enjoy here. Think about it, if AdultFriendFinder has to pony up more money to get the bandwidth they need to provide for the number of people using the service, do you think non-paying members will still be allowed to use the service?

We need to do whatever we can to help prevent this, so if everyone would please go to www.savetheinternet.com, read what they have to say, sign the petition and send letters to thier representatives (there is a link to do this), we may be able to stop corporate America from taking away more of our liberties.
Thanks,
Hinky

TTiger & Taurus, thanks, the more people we can get behind this the better.

Papy, I'm sure they will probably try to raise our rates some, but it is the website owners that will have to pony up if they wan't people to have fast accesss to their site, which will basically screw small businesses like me who can't afford to pay the extra fees.

> the more you pay the faster people can access your website

This is defacto standard even nowadays.

There are people not able to afford a 9.6k dialup line, there are people who can afford 24/7 gigabit access...

... the really bad thing is censorship, which is going on even here.
