The Blogville Gazette - Issue 1

Announcing The Blogville Gazette
As I have become more and more dependent and addicted to the world of blogging, I have discovered that things are just not set up appropriately for the WestCoast.

In order to have my posts read and responded to in a timely manner, I am required to wait for the last East & CentralCoast stragglers to go to bed and sneak in a post so that the fresh comments are available for my early morning coffee and perusal. Sort of like a paper delivery I suppose.

This prompts me to create and announce the arrival of the Blogville Gazette - West Coast Version. This electronic news rag will come out approximately once per week and the news within will generally poke fun at anyone within range. Suggestions, comments and guest editorials will be welcomed.

Due to deadlines and other variables, only the cover is complete for this announcement but should give an indication of the quality writing and editorial that will be contained within future publications.

Cover stories for Issue 1 Include; (Hi-res version posted in gerson 42 photos)

It is difficult to tell you how much this bothers me. I was, just last week, telling My Sweetie in an offline message that I had an idea for publishing a blogville gazette. It was the first genuinely marketable idea i had had in a long time. I was proud of it. It was brilliant.

I didn't execute it. I have been busy with Birthday Week and, alas, the "offline world" to start it up.

And there I am, not doing it. And you are.

Good for you. If you need help, let me know. I used to be a journalist anyway.

Fuck. I feel like the guy ho had a hot stock tip and forgot to call his broker. Fuck.

But Seriously...
There is no need for you to be bothered. See, this is the WestCoast Version. You know how there are little subgroups, like the AtlBA. And, and, you can't have allll the good ideas, well maybe you can, but a few of the rest of us millions of people get a shot too, right? And their is that guest editorial portion I mentioned. You can do that, or be a ghost writer, or just comment alot.

gerson - not sure if he should be a little worried that he and Real have similar thoughts.

I'd like a cup of hot coffee delivered with my blogville gazette. Now there's a business idea with genuine merit. Find a need and fill it.

There's a great book called "132 Ways to Make a Living Without Working for Someone Else." It was written back in the late '70s, I think. One of the biz ideas was Sunday AM delivery of brunch and the NY Times. Among the other ideas were pot grower, whistle blower (litigation against companies that pollute), prostitute and fresh juice store. What's interesting to me is that it was written before Jamba Juice, Blenders, etc.

My point: ideas are a dime a dozen. It's executing them that matters.

Good on ya,

I think you have hit on a winner here.

Morning Peach. That was the easy part. Now for the execution. Thank god I wrote approximately weekly. Leaves a little wiggle room.

Great idea As a fellow WestCoaster, I'm all over this one.
As a former EastCoaster, it is a sad truth that everything happens first over there. Looking forward to the publication.

Shouldn't you be in that Seattle traffic by now?

MOfun, certainly you have the restraint to only view what you want to view when you want to view it. Right?

The editor was unfortunately delay by a 4 day hospital stay with broken ribs and a punctured lung. He is slowly emerging from his Vicodin fog and will come through soon. Sorry for the presses going down.
