The Magic of My Music

Music has always had an incredible impact on my life. I brought my music from my p.c. with me to Ireland, only to find that the ones that 'Jimmy the cool guy' burned for me in his 'new way' didn't actually burn. I still got about 15 cd's burned out of it.. but lots and lots were lost JIMMY (dig dig) so i will have to spend some time figuring out which ones it was and try to replace them. Of course finding lots of new ones along the way. As i go thru the music, I realize nearly every song or group I have reminds me of someone or something. The Dixie Chicks.. well they remind me of a Christmas that my entire family rented a cabin in the mountains. My niece had their first CD and i spent long hours listening to them. Also my sweet sweet friend Jonnyrotten loves the Dixie Chicks, and a certain song in particular. I think of him when I listen to the Dixie Chicks. When I hear Aerosmith I think of Irishlad345. I think of calling his number and singing Angel to him on his voice mail, and wonder what thoughts raced thru his mind when he listened to the message lol. I get all choked up when i hear 'unchained melody' and think about james, Neil Young reminds me of many things.. the first time i stuck a needle in my arm especially, but not at all a bad memory, just a memory. The Waterboys and Tom Petty reminds me of Baz, many of the Beatles songs remind me of living in Gallup, New Mexico, riding on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, loud and fast in the dark of the night, hot nites in the summer, clear sky's, and feeling joy burst thru my body. When I hear Born to Be Wild, I remember making that my theme song so many years ago, with my bandanna on my head, tens of ear rings in my ears, and bib overalls with no shirt on underneath. (God help me lmao) Janis Joplin, she reminds me of my soul where I have been and where i am going to. Johnny Cash, a scared and lonely little girl that thought he was her real life friend. Thin Lizzy reminds me of freedom and crazy lives in California. Bon Jovi reminds me of Kansas, (the only good thing about Kansas unfortunately). Old Irish songs (She Walks Thru the Fair) remind me of my sweet Mockeen, and his lovely voice ringing it out, singing it to me in a pub in Galway. I could go on and on, some deep and dark memories, some vivid and alive, all special, all mean something, and bring on a special mood and feeling. Share with me.. some of yours please...

Peace xxx K

this one reminds me of you sweet friend:

Another turning point;
a fork stuck in the road.

Time grabs you by the wrist;
directs you where to go.

So make the best of this test
and don't ask why.

It's not a question
but a lesson learned in time.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs
and still frames in your mind.

Hang it on a shelf
In good health and good time.

Tattoos of memories
and dead skin on trial.

For what it's worth,
it was worth all the while.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

Hey there is a lesson there too!! lmao xoxoxo k
