I’m sure I’m not the first person to pose this question, but here’s what I’ve been noticing.

I’m not one of the lucky ones that have actually met someone off of here yet, so I occasionally do searches. What I come up with are two or more different profiles with the exact same picture and wording, but the locations and ages are different. I also find pictures of famous people or profiles with multiple pictures where the pictures don’t look like they’re of the same person. I hear a lot about there being fake people on here. I guess this is what they are talking about. What I don’t understand is why you would 1) put pictures of famous people up there. Certainly someone is going to recognize it. 2) have more than one profile using the same picture and wording, but change your age 3) have a picture other than yourself.

If you finally meet someone, aren’t you going to get pissed that you were deceived? I can understand not posting a picture or not posting one of your face or even posting an older picture because you don’t have a good recent one, but that other stuff just boggles my mind. I’ll even admit that the picture that shows my face is about a year and a half old. I don’t think I’ve changed that much in that time. My main photo was taken just a week or so ago.

So how many of you feel the same way I do? How many of you have old pictures up there? How many of you have pictures that aren’t really you? You can tell me. I’ll keep it just between us.

Mine are me, taken within the last 6 months or so. I got a comment once from the middle-eastern actor that was in The Mummy. Too funny

That is too funny.

The famous women I've noticed lately are Brittany Spears and Miranda Lambert (she's a country & western singer).

Man, you are sooooo right on the mulitple pictures thing. I've seen hundreds of those come and go. They even come back with different names altogther! lmao

My pic of me in the black shirt, is about a year old. The other, newer face pic that I have is about 3 months old. Every other pic is mine as well.

Ya, I believe I'd be pissed off. There was one time that I met a girl from another dating site (famous traditional one)... She said in her profile that she was 'average'. Her pics looked like she was slim. I met her one Friday night, but I had actually walked right past her to go in for drinks. Finally, the girl that I passed on the way in, came up and asked me if I was M... This girl, no kidding had to have weighed much, much more than her pictures reflected. I finished my drink, payed for hers and I left. It wasn't that she was not a nice girl or anything, but I felt I had been lied to. I just wasn't even interested in getting to know anymore about her.

This can be a problem with dating sites. There is another, very, very famous blogger on this site that something of this nature happened to. I'm not sure he's ever gotten over it. That's why it's always good to give each other updated pics. This kills most deceit.

You could also do a cam to cam. That's probably easier on this site than most of the "traditional" sites you were referring to.

Ya, I agree... However, like in my current case, not everybody has a cam... Otherwise, I would agree this would be the easiest.

Well. Get her one. Make sure you can record from it.

My pics are all mine. They have all been taken within the last year. I also have a cam too. I think it is sad that folks misrepresent themselves. But another thing too, you or I rely on how the person sees themselves. Some may believe they are slim/petite, but in all reality they may be heavier. That is just one example I can think of. Does that make sense?

That makes perfect sense. I've come across some people that put themselves as just average when they are smoking hot. So, I think a lot does have to do with self image issues.

Kinda like the guy I met that used a photo that was 2 years and 100 pounds earlier!!I too walked straight past him.

He was a nice enough guy but like Aas said, it was the being lied to that I couldn't get over.

My boot pic is about a month old. The heels and stockings is about 10 months old now I think.

Time for some new pics!!

Frangi x

Um... Yeah!!!

Just so we're clear, you can lose the boots, heels and stockings for your next pics.

I read your post about not filling out the information in your profile. Interesting points. Made sense.
