A Journey To my Past

I went to visit my parents this morning. They live in the boyne valley not far from newgrange.
While there i got this urge to put on my wellies and go exploring like i did as a child. Its been a long long time since i walked around. While walking i was overcome by the beauty and simplicity of the area. To the eye the scenery is beautiful but it was the mysticle feeling that hit me. I went through fields that i would have walked 35 years ago getting in touch with nature again.

I even spotted my name carved into a tree in a big heart i loved LD.Wonder where she is now.

But there was a sadness too.My parents are very eldery 87and 86 and all 7 chrildren have moved away so it made me think that this could be the last time i walk the area.

After leaving there house i decided to visit a few places that was special to me when i was young.

My local courting spot. Jesus did i do it there it was so open but i suppose the desires outweighed the practicalitys.

My old local pub. The last time i was in it there was no gents toilet just a wall that the men peed on outside.

A little place that i used to for picnic with my parents along side the river boyne ahhhhh so so calming the sound of the water running relaxing me.

I dont know if this is part of me starting to look at my life. I got that feeling it was look back and maybe i can find some answers.

I like taking a walk down "memory lane" every now and again. It can bring a smile to my face and sometimes tears to my eyes but I always feel better after my visit.

Fire, may I just say that you are lucky that most of your old stomping grounds are still there, hun. Most of mine are too, luckily. I'll bet that some people are incapable of reminiscing, as you did, since the whole landscape of their childhood has changed.
Tell you what, it's good to really act like a child and let your hair down completely, sometimes. Something is lost when we loose contact with the child inside..aawww..now you've made me go all maudlin.

Luv n stuff............Susie................. better..
