The Colors of My Rainbow

The rain has stopped,
Clouds have parted,
A brilliant rainbow
Seen in the horizon.

Blue, full of energy,
Curiousity and reason,
Gifts to treasure,
Rocks, beetles and leaves.

Inquisitive eyes,
Always seeking,
Something else to
Break apart, rebuild,
And reinvent.

Yellow, ah, the sunny one.
Full of happiness,
Always giving of self,
Sharing too much.

She is the one
I must shelter,
She is the one
that helps all others.

Red, this one has intensity.
Nonrelenting and powerful.
Vulnerable, unsure.

A strong woman she will be,
IF she makes if past 13.
Full of fire.
Full of love.

The old rainbow
Had one other color.
That darkened and turned sour.
No more of that, you see,
For this one has been set free.

One last row,
THe three combined,
Is the most dazzling color,
Yet to be defined.

This small rainbow,
Brightens my strife.
Easing life's twisted journey.
Lifting me high.

I love rainbows. Someday I'd like to be up high enough to see a full circlular rainbow. I just downloaded the song "The Rainbow Connection" yesterday. It's from the Muppet Movie. I was surprised to see that you only mention 3 colors, then I saw the last 2 stanzas.

Growth is always an interesting thing. I don't have any kids, but my share of nieces and nephews. Watching them grow from a colorless life to a dazzling color filled life is fun.

I hope one day you see the rainbow as you desire.
