As a student (oooh, so long ago) I, as many of my peers have, played a little "kitchen table" poker. Just for laughs. The games were fairly maniacal, low stakes and very loose.

Recently I caught a few WPT programmes on TV (I do not have a TV, but the lady I lodge with during the week does). This rekindled my interest in the game. So, being the obsessive I am, I immediately bought a stack of books on Poker and started reading them (still early days on my studies - there's just so much to learn! ).

Then I got on-line and dipped my toe into a micro-limit Hold 'em game on pokerroom (the only place I found I could play from striaght from a Linux machine). Great fun! (I came out a few bucks ahead too after a total of 5 hours - where else can you get 5 hours entertainment and make money too?) Then I tried my hand at a low stakes pot limit Hold em game. OK, that wasn't so wise (lost those few bucks).

Anyway, back to the books. More study. Poker is a fantastically intricate game. Simple to learn, but very difficult to play well. So, study, study, study. In the meanwhile I'll stick to low-limit Hold 'em. (I'm now on both poker room and poker stars [having got their windows software to run under wine on linux - for those that are interested], so maybe we'll bump into one another.)

On another note. I've decided to drop AdultFriendFinder gold membership at the end of this year and focus my attentions elsewhere. I'll still blog on after that, and I shall be increasing my online presence on my own website/blog too - details to be released once I end here.

Actually there's another piece of news. I've just ordered my own hosted server so that I can set up various websites I keep threatening to release onto the world - nothing for y'all to get too excited about; ones for my business, another is my personal website (more a sort of online notebook really), and finally I'm considering another little venture that I may tell you about another time [if it happens]

Poker can be a dangerous addiction, and common sense take hindmost.

I knew i had a problem when, packing an Ace-High Flush, I bet the wife.

Too bad it was a Penny-Ante game: she didn't cover the raise...

Been a while since they last let me out into polite society. Resurfacing, catching a breath, & catching up.

And while I got my Broad-Brimmed Pimping Hat on, could I cajole all of y'all to Comment on, Alone In A Cloud? It's probably the best thing that I've written!
