Man goes to see the Rabbi. "Rabbi, something terrible is happening and
I have to talk to you about it."

The Rabbi asked, "What's wrong?"

The man replied, "My wife is poisoning me."

The Rabbi, very surprised by this, asks, "How can that be?"

The man then pleads, "I'm telling you, I'm certain she's poisoning me,
what should I do?"

The Rabbi then offers, "Tell you what. Let me talk to her, I'll see
what I can find out and I'll let you know."

A week later the Rabbi calls the man and says, "Well, I spoke to your
wife. I spoke to her on the phone for three hours. You want my advice?"

The man anxiously says, "Yes."

"Take the poison," says the Rabbi.

What was special about President Johnson's suits?

Andrew Johnson, the seventeenth president of the United States, was the only president who sewed his own clothes. That's a rather unusual vocation for the most powerful office of the land.

Classic Quotes by Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach (1830-1916) Austrian writer

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

------------------------

Fear not those who argue but those who dodge.

------------------------

You will stay young as long as you learn, form new habits and don't mind being contradicted.

------------------------

They understand but a little who understand only what can be explained.

------------------------

In youth we learn; in age we understand.

------------------------

So soon as a fashion is universal, it is out of date.

------------------------

We don't believe in rheumatism and true love until after the first strike.

Where's the best place to store nuclear waste?

Because of their dryness, ability to withstand earthquakes, and 800 degree Celsius melting point (higher than radioactive wastes), scientists say salt bed deposits are the safest nuclear graveyards.

Classic Quotes by Michael Faraday (1791-1867) English scientist

The important thing is to know how to take all things quietly.

------------------------

The five essential entrepreneurial skills for success are concentration, discrimination, organization, innovation and communication.

------------------------

The lecturer should give the audience full reason to believe that all his powers have been exerted for their pleasure and instruction.

------------------------

Why, sir, there is every possibility that you will soon be able to tax it! (to PM William Gladstone, on the usefulness of electricity)

Nothing is too wonderful to be true if it be consistent with the laws of nature.

Why do geese fly in a V-shape?

Migrating geese fly in a V-formation to save energy. A goose's wings churn the air and leave an air current behind. In the flying wedge, each bird is in position to get a lift from the current left by the bird ahead. It is easier going for all, except the leader. During a migration, geese are apt to take turns in the lead position.

What did an aneurysm do for Quincy's music?

Two life-threatening brain aneurysms in 1974 terminated Quincy Jones' horn-playing days, but not his musical talents. Jones went on to produce Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall," "Thriller," and "Bad," as well as the ambitious, all-star hit "We Are the World" in 1985. Jones has composed more than 34 film scores and won more than 26 Grammys.

How strong is stomach acid?

The hydrochloric acid of the human digestive process is so strong a corrosive that it easily can eat its way through a cotton handkerchief, and even through the iron of an automobile body. Yet, it doesn't endanger the stomach's sticky mucus walls.

What should you give to your Russian friend?

What should you give to your Russian friend?

When traveling in Russia, gift giving is different than in North America or Western Europe. Women appreciate receiving cosmetics, because they also are scarce in almost all Eastern European countries. When giving flowers, avoid giving those that are yellow, as this is a sign of grieving or separation. When invited to a home, it is proper social etiquette for a guest to bring a bottle of wine or chocolate, but nothing too expensive. Vodka is always an acceptable gift.
