Daylight Saving Time

This is the time of the year I absolutely hate. Spring ahead. Bleah. This means summer is coming. Cripes almighty, I fricking hate summer in FL. Humidity is overpowering, the rain, the hurricanes. I hate it.

My homeowners insurance went up 67% from last year. And, from what I understand, this "trend" in the weather is going to continue for 15-20 yrs or more. Who is going to be able to afford to live here? Not me, that's for sure.

I just hope the next 8 months goes by quickly. I'm already looking forward to next winter

Yes well, you have a LOT more hair than I do, but, mine is naturally curly/wavy, and in the summer, it frizzes in this fricking humidity. I usually wear it up. Easier, that way.

You should get out of there and go to the Piney Woods.Naked Coffee Drinkers Club

Well I loved spring and I hated summer while I was in America last year. I just simply hate summer because that's the kind of weather in Malaysia all year round Never experienced winter so no comment

Spring is very nice, (what little we do get here), but summer? Bleah. It's so fricking HOT and humid. If I didn't have air conditioning, I'd be wilted til November.

Nice to see you again, Sassy

well the insurance thing is just going to get worse, and it seems no one will be able to afford to live on the water for long.

if you're within 10 miles of the ocean you likely have that Citizens insurance crap since most other insurance carriers wont write policies for those people anymore. Citizens is expensive as hell and worse, its state run and EVERY home owner in florida has to pay a giant surcharge to help pay for it whether they have Citizens or not...

i kind of like summer, not for the heat but the storms are amazing to me LOL
some women really dig the thunder, lightning and rain...find a new way to experience it

Nope, I have Natiowide Insurance. When I renewed, (and bitched about the bill), I was told I should consider myself lucky that I still have insurance. I'm about 2 miles or so, (as the crow flies), from the gulf. I couldn't afford Citizens... its like triple of what I pay now, and I can barely afford what I have. Thank God for my tax refund.

Hey bucfan - wanna do a house swap? I love the way the air feels just before a storm. I go for a drive to the beach with the windows down and enjoy the charged atmosphere. Love to be back home before the lightining starts though.

Just got my insurance increase too though, up $400 from last year. Yikes! Small price to pay for paradise though.

Pia

In 2 yrs, my insurance went up from 438.00 to just under 1200.00. And, I don't foresee it staying that price next year. Of course, we can get lucky and Florida can stay out of the line of fire, but, what are the odds of that happening? I shudder at the thought. But, I too, love storms. The way the air is charged and, of course, the lightning here is spectacular. But, I hate the never-ending humidity.

As usual, I will start buying my 'cane supplies in 2 months. Always a good excuse to get a case of Twinkies

Have a good Sunday

The increased insurance rates have been devastating for some folks.

Let me drive. I like the view

rm_bucfannn replies on 4/2/2006 7:29 pm:
Yep, and pretty soon, I'm going to be one of those folks... sigh...EVERYONE gets one way or another. It needs to stop. There has to be regulation of some kind.

Ah well. I really didn't want to rant.

Thank you, Cor. At least I have 2 WHOLE months to prepare. I hate hurricane season. I've lived in this swamp for 34 yrs, and have NEVER seen such activity as in the last 3 yrs. I don't care for it much...
