my favourite house

This house was on a small dilapidated street with the frontages facing the rear of various businesses including a rentals yard. The neighbourhood was not really that good - especially the time my roommates car was stolen.

The house itself was an old 1930's, 600 square foot, 2 bedroom house. It had problems like frozen water lines and other such ongoing issues.

But once you looked past all of that, there was so much happening. People were always swinging by; parties were had and it was all fun. Clothing was optional and most people chose without. Not to say orgies were going on, it wasn't about that.

Clothing optional rarely is a problem except when it's cold out or you're cooking. Oil splatters tend to be hard on the glans. I was frying up a Phillipino breakfast in my wok, dancing out of the way of the hot oil when I met Gerard. Gerard had a really bizarre haircut. Half of his hair was long and really roughly cut with scissors. The other half, split right down the middle of his forehead was a ragged scissor-cut shave job.

I being the accepting type, shook Gerard's hand and went on with frying breakfast. While I'm doing this, Gerard decides to introduce himself to my uptight girlfriend in our bedroom. His harmless insanity was a bit much for her.

Gerard went about the house doing all kinds of strange and wonderful things. I wish I had pictures to preserve them: The fan blown talcum powder blasting throughout the house, the various shrines made with the sharks teeth and other items in the house. Incense burning and pulling out Gerard's creativity. It was a moment that few ever get to see and witness; The first bipolar episode of an amazingly creative man.

I hope that his meds don't cover his gifts.

MzHuny: You'd have liked to visit. My dad, on the other hand, would barely stay for more than 5 minutes - the crazy hippies scared him

during college, lived in a few different houses with some VERY interesting characters.

my favorites were "the randoms". people who were connected to me and all of my roommates in some way who would just blow on through at random times haha. Our front door was always open......and apparently so was the fridge hahaha.

Odd: madness is a glimpse of true sanity.
