mmm cat or dog

Lets see. What's my favorite?

I'd have to say a cat. Why? because you have to earn a cats trust, love and respect. And once earned you can lose it. Seems to me that a dog is going to love me regardless of how I treat it.

Dogs hero-worship their owners. They know no other life and accept any kind of treatment as "just the way it is." Oh, they'll run and hide. Whimpering away with their tail between their legs. But, invariably, a dog returns to it's master when summoned.
Dog's are great. I love em. Truly I do. Not only that but I wouldn't ever try and harm an animal just to illustrate a point. (for you animal lovers reading this) They are wonderful companions and great friends. Their loyalty is without question. Always faithful and willing to give their lives to protect when called upon. They are great members of any family and I really feel bad for a kid that grew up without a dog. And nothing tears a heart like a 2 month old fuzzy little puppy. Cuter than anything. But, still. They will tolerate just about any kind of treatment. I prefer a happy, tail-wagging, ball-chasing canine myself. So I treat mine with loads of love and little discipline.
Call your dog and he comes a runnin... tongue hanging out, as if to say "what do I do now George, what do I do now?"

Cats are a different matter all together. Sure, a kitten is just as cute as a puppy. And furry too. However, cats don't take no shit. Treat a cat bad and you're liable to find cat shit in your favorite slipper. Example of how vindictive a cat is: We had a cat when I was a kid. Whenever that cat got mad at anyone except my Dad it would swat the Irish Setter in the nose with it's forepaw. Oh, and that cat wasn't de-clawed. That dog was scared shitless of that cat. If he was mad at my Dad you would be sure to find a nice gift of cat poo in my parents bed. On my Dad's side of the bed too.
Aren't cats great? ROFLMAO
Anyway, I have a lot more respect for a cat. Only because I know I had to earn it's trust and that I could lose it at any time. The cat may decide to give me a second chance, but it won't keep giving me chances. I have to continue to show it that I care and love it and let it have it's f'n way all the time. Call a cat to come and you're more than likely to get a look that says something like "ehhh don't much feel like getting up out of this ray of sun here... I'll have my people call your people. Until then YOU can come over HERE and scratch my chin just a bit...... oh yeah... oh yeaaaaaaah.... MEEEOOWWW babbbbby yeah. Thanks, that's enough for now, piss off."

I just got 2 kittens last month... both males. (3 females in my house... these cats are in heaven!!!lol) One of them is extremely friendly, the other is a little skiddish. However, I guess I've earned their trust (why won't men trust me like this?? lol) because they are waiting for me at my door when I get up at 3am every morning. They follow me everywhere, yes, even to the bathroom... (could be the fuzzy rug in there they like so But you're right about them telling you to "piss off"... If they want to be loved on and rubbed, they'll come to me, but if I want to love on them and nuzzle them a little, and THEY don't want to be bothered....they're not going to be bothered! I've always heard that a human does not own a cat, a cat owns a human!

True enough. and all I can picture is the look of content on a favorite cat of mine. When I scratch her chin she gets to smilin and tilting her head back. Get's that look that says.... ooooooohhhhh yeeeeeaaaaah. Guess she does own me.

Ok... pardon the X-rated thought that's in my mind now... wonder if this is why a woman's intimate place is referred to as a pussy... "scratch" it just right and we purrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
