Ann Coulter, not Harry Dean Stanton

I just finished reading Ann Coulter's column today, and it seems she's interested in Cindy Sheehan as well. Ms. Sheehan is the mother I wrote about in yesterday's post, Oh I'm gonna get hate mail for this one, who lost her son in Iraq.

In today's column, "Cindy Sheehan: Commander in Grief", Ms. Coulter mocks Cindy and her grief, holding her in utter contempt. Coulter says to Ms. Sheehan, "You're no longer a grieving mom; you're a C-list celebrity trolling for a book deal or a reality show."

While she's at it, Coulter doesn't waste an opportunity to do another little jig on the late Sen. Paul Wellstone's grave.

I'm fairly numb; a few years ago I would have been livid, but I've read too much of her hackneyed hate-speech and have become desensitized.

A couple days ago, a drunken hick from Waco showed his support for our troops by destroying a memorial for those who have fallen. Today, Ann Coulter shows her support for our troops by attempting to humiliate a dead soldier's mom.

You are a true patriot Ann.

I have a relative in service, who's been in Iraq in the past year for about six months.

Now while I do not agree with our presence there, I support all troops and their families. To grieve is a necessary process no matter who has died, be it a parent from a fatal illness or a child protecting our country (or another in this case).

A woman I nearly fell in love with is somewhere over there too. Her decision to go (she had a choice in the matter) is why I had to stop seeing her. In the past four years, she's been shot, had a colleague die in her arms, survived several explosions, and witnessed (and reluctantly perpetrated) horrors most people couldn't ever imagine.

The most dangerous situation Ms. Coulter has been in is having to dodge a coconut cream pie thrown at her while she spoke at a university.

ummm...isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?

I used to watch Hannity and Combs on my lunch hour (2am) and she'd be a regular guest. Now instead I just walk around an empty wing of our building. That way, my veins aren't bulging out of my head by the time my lunch hour is over.

hourglasses - Agreed, however I do occassionally watch Hannity & Combs, as well as O'Reilly, to see what lies and half truths they're spinning. Know your enemy, eh?
