Weird Movies

Last night I got stuck watching the weirdest movie called Crash. At first I thought it was that movie about racism with Matt Dillion, Sandra Bolluck, etc...I think thats what that movie is called. Anyway. This movie was made in 1996 and starred Holly Hunter and James Spader. It was about these people who get off on car accidents. I mean literally get off on car accidents, as in reinacting them and crashing and then having hot sex while the other person touches their car accident scars. I don't know why I got into watching this movie...maybe it was like a car crash, you want to look away, but you can't...sorry couldn't help myself.

Another movie that was bizzare in my book is called (and I know what your going to think) Spanking the Monkey. Of course after seeing that title I had to turn the channel to that movie. It is a movie about a mom who broke her leg and as a result has a full leg cast on. Her husband is a traveling salesman or somethig and is never home. So her son has to ditch his college internship and take care of his mother. Of course it starts off innocent enough. He brings his mother her drinks in addition to her pain pills...then one night he gets drunk with her in her bed and well...he starts to rub her thighs while she is laying face down. I am sure you know where this is going...This one also was so bizzare I just couldn't turn away.

This next movie was one I saw along time ago..Donnie Darko, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. This was more of a sci-fi type of movie about time travel. This one was hard to follow and I am still trying to figure it out. I would recommend this one if you like modern day sci-fi. In fact, I think I may rent it just to keep watching it, to figure it out.

You must think I all I do is watch TV, huh? Well working nights has given me a bad case of insomnia and so while I am laying in bed trying to sleep, what else am I to do, but turn on TV and watch HBO.

Leave me a comment if you have seen these movies. Would like to hear your thoughts on them as well...

If you can't laugh, what's the fucking point!

Donnie Darko was really a twisted flick. I enjoyed it. Check out Memento if you want to see a another movie that you have to watch several times before you get it all.

Crash, the movie, is based on Crash, the novel, by JG Ballard, whose writing is very similar to William Seward Burroughs (Naked Lunch, Soft Machine, Nova Express etc). Ballard uses a similar montage style. I read the book; I didn't see the movie. Ballard wrote a short 'story?' called "Why I Want to Fuck Ronald Reagan," which is one of the strangest funnily twisted things I ever read.
Other edgy movies worth watching include After Hours, In the Company of Men, and American Psycho. All are very darkly funny.

I got bored with Crash after 15 minutes or so and then watched the last 15 minutes. Oscar worthy? I don't think so. And if you want, I can write another story so you'll have something to do when you can't sleep.

Would rather live out the fantasies instead of reading about them....but I will never turn down good reading! For your next story add some rain, lightning and thunder. I love a good storm!

If you can't laugh, what's the fucking point!
