It is Freakin' Hot Out there!!

Let’s see…what did I do today….well not much. BUT…I did set out to mow my yard in this 100 degree heat, but my best efforts were thwarted. Just to give you a little background on that issue. A month ago, my pull string on my mower broke. I knew it was coming and well just choose to ignore it until it happened. So it broke and I had decided to take it to Ace Hardware. There was an older gentleman working the front desk of the parts department. He was nice enough, but it took like twenty minutes for him to write out the work order form. Even with me spelling my first and last name, he still couldn’t get it right after three tries. I finally just said, “Here, I will do it”. So after a few days I got a call that it was all done.

So I went to pick it up and bring it home. At the time I had used my neighbor’s mower so I didn’t need to use mine for several days. So here comes the day for me to mow and well after emptying my bag, I went to pull start the mower, and the cord tangled up. Basically it would not recoil back into the whatchamacallit thing. So I was once again stuck with a mower that wouldn’t start. Since it was a Sunday, I had to wait until Monday to AGAIN, load it in my car and take it back. So I take it back and I get the same old guy. Thank God he got my name spelled this time, and on the second try! So I decide to pick it up the next day. So I go back and this time I ask the guy to start it several times while I am standing there. He just pulled out the cord, but never pulled it hard enough to start it. What was so hard about starting it? Anyways, I was just happy to get it back. So again I had used my neighbor’s mower, so I didn’t use my mower right away.

Now a several days go by and since it was raining I couldn’t mow. Now my grass is like 10 inches high and needs mowed desperately. Which brings me to today….So I get my bathing suit on, sunscreen lathered on and decided to brave the heat. I filled the lawnmower with gas and was ready to go. Pulled the cord once, twice, three times. Damn thing wouldn’t start. Wouldn’t even kick over. You could just image the expletives coming out of my mouth at that time. So I called Ace and asked since this would be the third time that I needed to bring the mower back, could they please come get it. The guy just laughed and said, “no, we don’t do that”. So here I go again, lifting the damn thing in my car. So I take it in and the guy doesn’t even acknowledge my frustration and just wheels the mower out back and outside. After a minute or two I hear the thing start up. WTF?

So he wheeled it back in. I asked what was wrong and he said casually, “Oh the starter plug here in the front came unplugged”. I felt as if he were saying that I did it on purpose. He said, “I wonder how that happened?” Gee I wonder, could it be all the freakin’ transporting of the damn thing, or even the possibility that one of your idiots who fixed it, did it? After all that I was too pissed and sweaty to mow. So decided to mow tomorrow evening, God willing!

Oh yeah…took my son to Talladega Nights tonight. Funny ass movie. I highly recommend it. Of course my son had to take two other friends, which means that after I paid for and gave my son his ticket, he did not know me. So I was stuck sitting in the back of the theater. Oh well. That is the life of a mother of a tween. I do have to say that Will Farrel was looking pretty good in his jeans! Great cast of supporting actors too. I have to say the French gay driver did take me by surprise! I give it two thumbs up and shake.

If you can't laugh, what's the fucking point!

Sammi....at least you can get to your mower, our garage door is still stuck shut. Our grass looks like prarie land with all the rain.

Talladega Nights--laughed my ass off..."Shake and Bake". Will Farrel was great, but Michael Clark Duncan singing "Last Dance" had me crying!
