My Travels

For those of you who know me, you know that I have just returned from the USA, where I spent six weeks with my man.

Most of my recent blog posts have been my writings about our love. Now I find that my words are only for perhaps no more prose for a while...but I want to talk about my holiday.

We met here on AdultFriendFinder...wasn't looking...far from it. Here on my blog, actually *lol*. We got to know each other, fell in love...the rest is history *lol*.

I left Australia Dec 26 at 8am...and arrived in the US on Dec 26 at 8.30am. Gotta love that International Date Line. The flight over was nearly 14 hours and luckily I got an aisle seat. I shared my row with an 6'5" American who had lost the use of his legs by the time the flight was over, and an arrogant Australian surfer. I slept pretty much the whole way over.

I flew United Airlines and one thing that surprised me was the age of the flight attendants. I would say that all were over 45, and most were in their mid 50's. I realise the recent legal groundroads in airlines that mean they can't get rid of their staff once they reach a certain age...but it was wonderful to see it in practise.

I arrived at Los Angeles and joined the long queue in the very dingy and dirty customs area. After such a long flight, I didn't welcome having to wait nearly an hour to be processed. They took my picture, got my fingerprints and stamped my passport.

From there I walked down a dank walkway to collect my luggage. Please remind me next time to not bring black suitcases. Everyone uses black suitcases. I've never seen so many black suitcases in my life. A very nice Marine grabbed my bag for me and hoisted it onto my trolley. I agreed with him that it was heavy.

And so I made my way...more dankness and dinginess...sorry...but I was a little disappointed at the lack of facilities at LAX. I passed through another customs point and had my passport checked again by a rather surly and non communicative gentleman. Welcome to America!

And then I headed towards the throng of waiting meet my man. I had dressed for the occasion, of course. Choosing something casual, but what I hoped was elegant. Black capri pants, a white camisole and a black cardigan. Pretty. On my feet I wore my favorite heels...low...but stylish. I felt pretty good *lol*.

So I push my suitcase in front of me and do the mental check of my appearance. I scan the crowd...nervous. And just as I spy my man...tall...and resplendent in his own carefully chosen outfit...the heel of my shoe breaks.

I stop...stifle the urge to scream...take the shoe off...and limp my way towards the exit. So much for a cool and elegant meeting.

Glad you had a wonderful trip.

Oh too bad your heel broke and I know how those long flights and customs can get to ya!

Good for you and best wishes with your new love!..... but, I do have one queston.... Since you met this man on AdultFriendFinder.... What do you two tell your friends and most importantly your family when they ask, "Now where exactly did you meet him/her?"
