IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the
fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner." There would have been more "I love you's"
More "I'm sorry's.

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it... live it and never give it back and STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!

Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what...it is sooo pointless !!!

Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.

Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with, and what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally. I hope you have a blessed day And a Happy Easter!!

I too would have done so many things different !! But it's no good living with regrets, of what you should and could have done instead.
Thanks Purry for making me feel I am not totally alone in thinking like that.

pk2, so true, so true. the book "don't sweat the small stuff" defines small stuff this way: ask yourself whatever it is that you're sweating about, will it matter in a year. e.g in a year will it matter who got to the red light first, or who got to check out at the grocery store, etc. much of what we "sweat" about is just some petty bs.

Just this past AM I coincidentally sent to a freind , an Email ,as to how thankfull I was for having lived during this day and age, in this country, and for having lived my life ,as they way I lived it . In retrospect ,there could be some fine tuning but basically ,I have no regrets . Would do it all over again the same way . With many people their expectations are too great ,which consequently results in nothing other than disapointment . The plumbing still works ! How can I complain ?

Thank you Purry! I've recently been reminded just how precious those who love us are. I have my health, my family, true friends, and a man who loves me warts and all....what more could I possibly want or need?!?!?!? Happy Easter all!

IF ONLY.........

Two words that lead to a whole lot of misery & negativity!

I agree Purry we can all get caught up in the HYPE!

We all need to be reminded from time to time to chill out.Because most people don't care anyway.

Happy Easter

What did the Guy say in "Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy"? Something about how He should have listened to His mother? When they asked Him what she said, He said, "I don't know! I wasn't listening to her!". lol

Thanx Purry
This is a sensation, of the genre:

......going barefoot earlier in summer & later in autumn,

dancing like no one is watching

loving like you have never been hurt.........

All great advice to sieze the moment, I guess the day will take care of itself if we catch ourselves in that instant of the auto-response to the daily drudgery & instead forge a new kind of perspective & plan of attack.

Thanx for the insight & fresh perspective.

Ciao Kali

Gret post Purry! I like to think at my age I do those things already... Lord knows I don't care what others think! lol A very close cousin dying at 19 and almost dying myself I believe helped me in all of the regards you mention.
