Annoying Commercials

Ok, I think there's some marketing people out there that need to die, because I'm sick of having to change the channel every time their commercial comes on because it grates on my nerves.

Currently, the winner of the most irritating commercial is:
"Head ON-Apply directly to the forehead" x3
Then immediately followed up by:
"Freedom from hemorrhoids? Freedhom hemorrhoid cream."x3

Why does it need to repeat three times in a row? At first I thought it was a fuck up on the part of the station, but no, that's the way the commercial is. It literally loops the sentence three times back to back. What the crap is that? And in between the Head ON and Freedhom ones, they have a regular commercial for an anti-pain med you can rub on. So obviously they can MAKE a commercial that doesn't suck, but choose to run these other, terribly irritating ads.

The other leading scorer is every Vonage commercial ever. This is because of that goddamned song in the background. You know the one that goes "whoo whoo who who whoo."

Past winners included pretty much every Dominoe's commercial ever made. The worst thing about those is I still had to buy their pizza because they were the only place open after midnight in college.

Feel free to add to my list.

I always get creeped out at the genital herpes ones, why the hell do they always play those and the tampon commercials during dinner time?!

Always and in All Ways

    Friggen Viagra commericials Ptalk
It I hear, one more time
"If you have an Erection that last more than 4 minutes, please seek emergency medical treatment....." I'm gonna scream

    fly
The one's with Bob are somewhat funny just because of much innuendo they're able to stuff into a 30 second spot. But yeah, I have low tolerance for those. Especially because I can't help thinking "it gets me into enough trouble as IS, I don't need it to be anymore active. And no guy would ever go to the doctor complaining he was hard for a four hour time period..."

Why they play either is beyond me, especially the Herpes one. "Now I can have sex whenever I want, even though I'll probably give it to everyone I sleep with..."

I agree wholeheartedly on the Vonage ditty. Unfortunately, the fact that we're grousing about it means it's succeeding in getting our attention. What the Sam Hill is "Head on" supposed to be good for?

I boycotted Burger King during their "sometimes you gotta break the rules" campaign a number of years ago (I don't think they noticed). The current/recent McDonald's "I'm loving it" campaign is another annoyance.

Ptalk..you shoukld laugh at them instead of getting into such a tizwas!

I have a favourite telly add, at the moment. Goodness knows what it's for..some yoghurt, or something along those lines. One line says..."contains Bividus digestivum"..as if it's some sort of wonder additive, not something they've made up on the spur of the moment. I was going to blog about it, but you've beaten me to it.

Now come on over to my bliog..and play spin the bottle.

Asn afterthought, I actually know a guy who is responsible..or irresponsible for setting the sound levels on those flipping things. have you noticed how the sound level raises a few decibels(well, whatever) when they come on. I mihght be watching my favourite soap and nodding off when the bloody commercials come on and nearly deafen me..and you mtoo, no doubt. yes, that's much more annoying than the actual content of the adds, don't you think, hun?

Keep on chuckling at em..it's the only way to beat em. ')

Come spin the bottle now..ok?

anyone else who reads this is quite welcome to participate too.
