Nanna doing it tough

Today my Nanna and her daughter in law arrived from NSW. We all met up at Auntie Dots house. I went there because my dad as executor asked me to change the front lock to a more secure deadlock instead of the barely holding nightlatch lock.

I arrived at around lunch time with Mustang Sally [my Long Haired Chihuahua] under my arm because I thought that Nanna might enjoy giving her a cuddle, which she did.

I was in for quite a shock. Nanna had hardly slept last night, and so she was really off colour and lacking all the usual smiles and vitality.

Understandable really as Dot had been her big sister and a motherlike figure to her all her life as their mother had died when Nanna was 10 months old. So for as long as Nanna has been cabable of concious thought, she has always had Dot there. Until last week.
Dot had been part of her life for over 90 years.

Nanna is gutted, and shellshocked.
