6th Post - peeves

We’ve all come across the profile that states somewhere that they want men but in the mutual match section just want women. Which are you going to believe?

“We don’t do “discreet relationships” was the response I received today that brought out one of my peeves concerning profiles on this site. I emailed back: “Maybe you should remove it from your “looking for” list then.” Their response: “Maybe you should get a divorce and stop cheating!”

So what got me a little pissed was a) their inability to see that what people put out there on their profile is the only thing viewers have to go by. But what really got me was b) the part where a total stranger is telling me what I should do with my life concerning my relationship with my wife! Now I admit I could have worded my initial response a little more politely but I was in a hurry and just stated what I thought was a friendly reminder that they had overlooked something. After all their profile clearly stated that “discreet relationship” was one of the qualifications they sought.

I’m not sorry if your moral standards conflict with my actions I’m not asking you to do anything you don’t want to do. We are all looking for the same basic things here, the foremost being SEX. Friendship and companionship are added bonuses. It’s none of your business how I am handling my particular journey into sexual experimenting and I don’t have to explain it either. If you don’t want “cheaters” just say so. You don’t have to be rude about it. I can understand not wanting to get in between a couple or wanting the chance for complication. I’ll look elsewhere.

So, all I’m asking is ‒ please, take a look at your profiles again. Does it really say what you want? Does it say something you don’t want? Just remember when someone contacts you it’s a compliment of sorts. After all someone liked what you wrote about yourself or the photo you posted of yourself enough to want to get to know you better.
