Long Distance Relationships

I have a new man, and we are very much in love. I'm so happy he is in my life, and I'm so googly that some times I feel like I'm floating. I currently reside in what I like to call, my happy love bubble. There is only one problem with our relationship... I'm in NC and he is in NY.

I don't make a lot of money, and traveling back and forth is just too expensive to do much longer. I have two teenaged kids; a 15 year old girl that lives with me, and an almost 18 year old boy that lives with his dad in the same city. I just can't move out of the state right now. Once my daughter is out of high school and they are both in college, I will have more freedom, but for now, I need to stay here.

He loves New York. He is from there and has some family there. He has a daughter, but she lives with her mother in California. I don't think he wants to leave New York.

I know it isn't fair, but if we are going to be together in the next 3 years, it is going to be up to him to make it so.

For me, communication takes on a heightened importance. We instant message during the day at work, talk on the phone, and webcam (when his pc isn't acting up). I miss him like mad, but feel very connected to him.

I was wondering, Is there anyone out there who can give me some pointers about how to maintain a successful long distance relationship? I know it is very difficult, and hopefully it will not go on for too much longer. In the meantime, I welcome any advice! -- I love this man, so please keep the advice positive. Thank you.

I'm happy for you both, and while I'd love to get my hands and mouth on your lovely orbs, I can live with just being to view them from time to time.

What I CAN offer is a way for you to make some additional income - from home, which might make it easier for you to travel more to visit your honey. Let me know if you are interested and I can give you more info.

Thanks,

Paul
