My New 'Doo

Ok, enough with the heavy postings for awhile. Time to talk about something fun. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, full of friends, family, and good food. I have much to be thankful for, not the least of which is the fact that our son showed up for a surprise visit. He had told us he wouldn't be able to leave base due to some special training, but he managed to squeeze in a few days off. He wasn't the only surprise this week either. All of my wife's brothers and sisters were able to make it with their families and we found out our niece is pregnant! We had 34 people at dinner, plenty of food, and the Mountaineers crushed hated rival, Pitt, that night in the frigid temperatures. It couldn't get much better than that, right? Wrong....

On Wednesday, my wife was visiting with her sister from Florida. Her sister showed her a great wig and asked if she knew anyone who might like it. My wife answered that she would like it for me - so, yet another family member knows about Jocelyn and loved it. The next day, we had finished eating dinner, when we got into a conversation about clubs with my nephew from Florida. He casually mentioned that he and his wife used to go to a club in their town, and he went in drag! Now, another person knows.

Friday night, Robin, our favorite performer, was doing a show at Vice Versa. So, off we went with our son and my new 'doo! The show was great and we met a couple of new people. I've often wondered what I would look like with shorter hair, so I was excited about the new wig. I love the new look and received a lot of nice compliments, so I think I'm going to retire my other one for a little while. After the club closed, we were all hungry so we decided to stop at Eat-N-Park before going home. It was my first trip to a restaurant en femme and went off without a hitch...even got called "honey" by our waitress.

We also went out Saturday night as well. Had a great time, but I don't think my face can take shaving that closely day after day - ouch! The only other downside is that I think I'm getting a little too old to close down bars two nights in a row. I slept in until noon today, which took a bite out the day I should have spent catching up on some work. Oh well, I needed a break from the computer and there's always tomorrow.

Cheers,
Jocelyn
