Abortion

So, I'll admit...I'm using all of you right now, lol. For a class, at least. Just doing a little poll on here along with another site.

QUESTION:

Do you favor abortion?
Yes
No

Wow! Your spawned quite a debate. The bottom line is, Lady Bambi is pro life, Mr. Bambi is pro choice.

SQuirt~ I totally agree with you 110%, the people in favor would be singing another tune if they were that fetus about to be aborted. Also, through my research, I found some really nasty stuff about different abortion techniques that literally made me sick. For example (a little piece of my paper so far):

Brenda Pratt Shafer, who was adamantly pro-choice and a registered nurse for thirteen years, was assigned to an abortion clinic in 1993. She was unfortunate enough to witness a partial-birth abortion during her employment and this is what she witnessed, in her own words:
I stood at the doctor's side and watched him perform a partial-birth abortion on a woman who was six months pregnant. The baby's heartbeat was clearly visible on the ultrasound screen. The doctor delivered the baby's body and arms, everything but his little head. The baby's body was moving. His little fingers were clasping together. He was kicking his feet. The doctor took a pair of scissors and inserted them into the back of the baby's head, and the baby's arms jerked out in a flinch, a startle reaction, like a baby does when he thinks that he might fall. Then the doctor opened the scissors up. Then he stuck the high-powered suction tube into the hole and sucked the baby's brains out. Now the baby was completely limp. I never went back to the clinic. But I am still haunted by the face of that little boy. It was the most perfect, angelic face I have ever seen.

This is a firsthand account of a procedure that pro-choice activists claim is not murder. Clearly, the baby is fully aware and able to feel pain, and if this procedure were performed on a child fully outside of the mother, it would be considered murder. Therefore, how can one state that simply because the head is still inside the vaginal opening, this is considered a legal abortion and not murder? The answer is, they cannot; abortion is murder, murder is wrong, therefore abortion is wrong. Not only is it wrong, it is immoral and should be illegal.

Bambi~ quite a pair, lol. And, yes, it is a little bit of a debate. I truly do respect everyone's opinions but I also have my own, as you can see. I'm totally against it though, it's just interesting to see what views everyone else has on this issue.

I DO NOT BELEAVE IN IT,ONLY IF IT IS GOING TO HURT U TO HAVE THE BABY. EVEN IF U ARE STILL HAVE IT AND GIVE IT UP, THAT KID DID NOT ASKED TO BE MADE. THE ONLY OTHER WAY I THINK IT IS OK IF IT IS A KID, THAT IS ONLY INTELL AGE 15.SOME MAY NOT AGREE WITH ME, BUT THAT IS JUST ME.

fyrey~ thanks for sharing, I know it must have been hard for you to do. But, we all make mistakes throughout our lifetime; the past can't be changed, but you're a wonderful mom to those little ones.

jennyancarl~ you're more than entitled to your own opinion; and while I may not agree with you, I respect what you said.

I do not believe in abortion under any circumstances. As far as age is concerned, I think that if you're old enough to be so irresponsible to have unprotected sex, then you're more than old enough to live up to those mistakes. You can continue to attend school, or be home schooled for that matter, if you become pregnant at 15 or any age. Then, if you decide that you don't want to keep that child, give it up for adoption to someone who will want and love that child. And, this may sound awful to some, but personally I would give my life for my child and would have done while I was pregnant if I was told that I could not have that child or it would kill me.

Thanks for the comment and stopping by.

Hell No. With few exceptions. If you may die from it, or, if you were , and really totally seriously could not no matter what carry it, and if it were Immediatly following the . Then make peace with God. Some women may not be able to handle a pregnancy, after something so brutal. I would say no, but then, I've never been in that position. But if it was consensual sex, then hey, you made your bed, now you lay in it. Don't expect an innocent life to pay for your screw up.

luking~ good point, but there is a morning after pill that can be taken immediatelty after a that prevents the sperm from fertilizing the egg, and is shown to be somewhere in the range of 98% effective if take within 24 hours, so that should put abortion rates due to way down. But, it doesn't. I'm also not sure of the availability of this pill in other states, but it is readily available around here. Of course, the same pill could be given to mothers who cannot carry a child because of the health implications for them. However, if they know beforehand that getting pregnant could be harmful or potentially fatal to them, then they shouldn't be having unprotected sex under any circumstances.

over~ I think I made my stand on the issue clear above, so I won't go into it again, but to each their own, and everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion.

Yes, we must respect others' opinion, even as we disagree.
A very enjoyable, and ecclectic blog, Justsex4me. *smiling*

Yes a months abortion is basically to murder to me.
A 1-3 months one, i am not sure. I still don't like it.

Now if a baby is unwanted,
i still think that having it is a bad idea.

I would like a world where abortion is banned but birth control is so widespread effective and normal that there is no need for it anyway.

Stargazer~ I just think that taking the life of an innocent person is wrong in every way. From the moment of conception that cell has the potential to become a living, breathing human being. But, as I said above- there is a morning after pill that is very effective at preventing the sperm from fertilizing the egg if there was an act of unprotected sex, whether or not it was consentual. There are so many forms of birth control now that I see no reason why abortion should still be so widespread in the United States. We're not a third world country where birth control and sex education isn't available. There are clinics that will provide these services absolutely free of charge for a woman of child-bearing age that cannot otherwise afford the services, therefore I see no reason why the practice of abortion is still going on today. But, as I said, I won't slam anyone for his or her own opinions on any subject, but I stand firmly in my beliefs.
