Sister Bridget

She was sitting at the window of St. Mary's Church in Lahinch.....right on the Irish Sea and looking out the window one evening. Sister Bridget opened a letter from home and found a $100 bill her parents had sent.

Smiling at the gesture as she read the letter she glanced out the window to see a shabbily dressed stranger leaning against the lamp post in front of the parish.

Quickly she wrote, "Don't Despair, Sister Bridget" on a piece of paper, wrapped the $100 bill in it and got the man's attention. She tossed her gift out the window to the stranger. He picked it up, and with a puzzled expression and a tip of his cap he was off down the street.

A few days later Sister Bridget was surprised to find the stranger at the doorstep of the parrish. Without a word he handed her a huge wad of $100 bills.

"What's this," she asked?

"Well, that's the $8,000 ye have comin' sister, " he replied..."Don't Despair paid 80 to 1!"
