Chug-chug-chugging the night away...

With the callback from the rugby ticket office coming through at the last minute, I was hard pressed to find any decent offers on flights. All the cheap seats had well and truly gone - returns to Glasgow at £250 ... give me a break! Luckily, I checked out that lesser used of services, the Caledonian Sleeper train. Having used it in the past and generally found it rather pleasant, I was content to find prices at half of the rate of its airborne competition. Plus there's also the added bonus of the trip taking place overnight, so no wasted daytime hours. But enough of plugging the service...

Although it did strike me in passing having the 2-man cabin to myself was the sort of fun one could get up to in transit. Granted it's not the mile high club, but you could definitely get a little inventive with mirrors, various grip points & even a window for those more adventurous amoungst you. Perhaps for another time!

Anyways, plan for the weekend was now to combine going to the game with my mum's birthday (aww...) and therefore there really was only one person who I could possibly think of taking with me. Having kept my arrival a closely guarded secret, I sprung my surprise at 7am to a shreek of delight and shouts of "ya cheeky monkey!". At least it had the desired effect...

Countdown had now commenced for the afternoon's clash of the Auld Enemies!
