Naps and the Ceramic Olympics

Whenever my body demands that I take a nap, I always feel so guilty about it afterwards. I have too much to do and my days are all carefully scripted so that I can get it all done.Today was supposed to be:
8am-1:30p: Attend Ceramic Olympics
1:30 to 2:30: Drive home and pick up some food from Trader Joes
3-10: work online at my super neato job
10-11: type up the 2 essays that are due

Instead, when I came home at 2:30, I sat down for a minute on the floor to eat my lunch. The next thing I knew, it was dark, I was thirsty, and I was covered with a blanket. I feel much better but I still wish I had not needed that nap.

I attended the Ceramic Olympics today. I actually won a door prize of some brushes I hung out with 2 classmates from ASU and watched pros throw humongous bowls (29 inches across). I watched non-pros compete for the Tallest pot, blindfolded throwing, and some silly contest involving throwing an 8in high cylindar and then diving in with your face to get the cherry they dropped inside. I didn't compete mostly because I didn't feel I had a chance and partly because I still have that razor blade slash on my finger.

While there I bought my first bag of porcelian to try and a bag of my normal B-mix. Also got some "Mother of Pearl" luster. One thing I do wish is that Marjon's was not pretty much the only ceramic store in AZ. I've made trips there to specifically buy something twice now and each time the lady who runs it has been pretty bad at her customer service skills, snippy, stopping in the middle of ringing me up to hold a conversation with some friend who walks in the door (always an older person I've noticed), just overall an unpleasant experience. I've tried to keep an open mind but it's happened twice now, to the point where I don't really want to shop from them. Its no hardship for me to shop over the internet so I think I'm going to go that route now. I'm not going to take it personally, but I also don't want to spend money somewhere that irritates me each time I go there.

Tonight: work for as long as I can. I have to be on campus tomorrow morning at 7am.
