Life Size Doll, now with hair!

Today I hauled a headless lifesize stuffed dolly around campus. Its a project for our 3D class - design and create a life size alter ego. I sewed my 3D version out of fabric, but one of my classmates went out and bought a blow up doll, tossed some clothes on it, and called it done. There is a part of me that says "Hey! Thats cheating!" since she didn't create the doll at all. But not my business.
I put on a head tonight with the help of a glue gun and some fabric. I learned something important: hot glue melts styrafoam. So, my styrafoam head has a few pitted holes in it. Still, it looks good. I added yarn hair that is about 4 feet long (got that long hair fetish thing going on)

My essay that was "proofread" by the resident writer in the family was returned to me full of typos. This is an interesting lesson...proofread your own stuff...or, find another proofreader. So, I had to fix that essay and then finish another. It seems like everything is due right bout now.

I'm working on a project that I'm not going to enjoy - I'm trying to make myself throw 60 identical cups. Even if they are close to identical (ie, same hight and general shape) I'll be happy. I know that my throwing skills suck and 60 cylindars in a row ought to cure that little problem. I had 30 min to spare this morning after unloading the kiln, so I sat down and threw 2. So, estimate 4 per hour...should take me 15 hours to throw 60 cylindars...add on for breakage and adding handles...yeah, lots of work. Still, I have a deadline (I'd like to use these cups at a family reunion in a few months).

I'm 1/2 of the way through updating my ceramics site. I had someone ask me yesterday if I could show them any pics of my work, and I was embarassed, having to send them to the crappy site with some broken links. So, full overhaul started yesterday: add all my new work, arrange the setup so that new work can be added easily and old work removed. It's all good now - but my count of work has gone from like 15 to 47.

I'm one tired woman. Up at 7am, bed at 1am most nights. It's almost midnight here now, so bed early (ie, before midnight) is the goal

Good luck with the project. 60 identical cups is quite an endeavor. Get some rest. --Zavier
