What is your defenition of a best friend? Do you think that your signifacant other should be your best friend? Can your best friend be of the oppisite sex?

Webster says that the "best" is: most excellent, most suitable, desirable, etc. "Friend" is: a person whom one knows well and is fond of, an ally, supporter, or sympathizer.

I think if you are planning on spending the rest of your life with someone then it would be a good idea to spend the rest of your life with your best friend. Who do you want to talk to, go run the streets with or just sit at home and relax with more than your best friend? Who knows you better than your best friend? Who do you confide in and tell your deepest darkest secrets to?

If your signifacant other isn't your best friend, who is? What makes them your best friend?
