why are single men looked down on?

why are we as single men over 40 viewed different to other men who are marrired with kids?
first question when you meet a new person, are you marrired got any kids? when you say no , they look at you and ask why whats wrong with you?i have lived with women in the past but sonmething inside me wants to be alone i like living by myself i dont want children' but socity thinks we have too
when your out at the club or party with friends and you start talking and laughing with a ewoman straight away her partner comes up and stands between you and her which sometimes kills the conversation inm not trying to get every women i talk to into bed but because im single other people think i am
we are taxed at higher rates goverment says familys first familys get rebates tpo raise their kids i get nothing to look after my goldfish

You are a little different, but to single women a single guy is the best!

I do not look down on single men (unless I happen to be sitting on top of him). In general I think our society views single, as in never married, men and women over the age of 35 as being unusual.

I totally relate to what you are saying. Try being a single woman in her late 30's with no kids and never been married. Don't get me wrong, I love kids...I just don't believe in populating the world for my enjoyment. The reason I've never married? Well I chose the career path first...and I guess I have enjoyed being able to spend time being the best nurse I can be. I lived with a man once...got close to marrying him....he cheated. I guess if I ever overcome the hurt and distrust, I might actually date again.
