planning stuff

What a dull week this is already, and I feel like the queen dullard. I practically begged for overtime at work today. What the hell is wrong with me(?) you may wonder. Well, I still need to scrounge about $2,000 before I can look at houses and expect to even attempt to bid on one. I can't bitch about what I make, because while I have a fair amount of debt, I am usually able to pay everything on time. I just can't seem to save any $. The thing is, begging for overtime is still much less effort and pays more (since it's time & 1/2) than actually looking for a job on the side. I'm lazy and I'll admit it.

That's why I want a house with a porch so I can lounge out on it. That has been my first main requirement when I snoop through the real estate listings in my price range. That or possible space to build a porch. I will always be a hick at heart, even if I move to the center of town. I have to have a porch. It's funny there are so many other things I am willing to settle for while house-trolling, but that porch is a must-have in my head.

I am jealous. I don't even have a real porch right now.

That's why I'm trying to whore myself out at work for overtime.

Porch thats asking alot over here. I have a fire-escape does that count. Then again if you are looking to buy a house in the city then you might have to sell your soul just to put a decent down payment.
Real Estate is ridiculous here completely out of control.

That's the one thing I like about living in this area. I am pretty sure I can get a liveable fixer upper in the $50,000s at this point, though I might have to go in the 60s to get what I really want in the fixer-upper mode.

The porch is too much a part of my 'having my own home' fantasy to give it up. I am moving into town though. I'm sick of the damn drive. It's only 20 min., but I could be getting an extra smack in the snooze button and saving a few bucks a week in gas $.
