Things look different from above

Sunday got a chance to do an off-the-wall adventure. Got a call wanting to know if I'd like to fill a seat on a plane flying up to Sedona for breakfast. Sedona is about 200 miles north of Tucson.

Turns out there's a group of pilots who get together Sunday mornings and fly off somewhere just to have breakfast and fly back. The deal is pay for a portion of the gas for the plane.

Southern Arizona where Tucson is located is a land of wide desert valleys with 9,000 foot mountains.

North and east of Phoenix the countryside changes with row after row of jagged mountains with man-made lakes deep in the canyons. Sedona is located at the edge of the Mogollon Rim, a giant uplift in the landscape onto the Colorado Plateau which is dotted with 12000 foot volcanic peaks.

Sedona is noted as a spiritual and artist center. It is located amidst towering red rock cliffs.
I shot over 150 pictures out the window of the plane.

Cruising along at less than 100 mph just a few thousand feet above ground level gives one a totally different perspective on a countryside I've wandered about the last 50 years.

Sedona is like an oasis in the desert...
I was there on a weekend trip with a friend, I will never forget the restaurant we ate at, open air dining inside... with the most romantic music being played by a spanish guitar and a flute. Too bad I wasnt with a man
She was merely a friend.
Some memories bring tears to your eyes... I will never forget that day or that beautiful place...kinda etched in my memory.
