If nothing is ventured

“If nothing is ventured, then nothing is gained
and nothing is all that will ever remain”

--Richard Farina

The person who is truly alone
is never known by others
and never tried to know anyone

How strange
the happenstance
that determines who we can or will know.
Curious combinations of people
a tossed salad of humanity
just thrown together
by chance of the same school
or working in the same office
or sharing a table at a lunch counter.

Looking for friends and lovers…
Is to see that the potential
is always around.

Doing what pleases you
doing what you can share with another
who is already
probably next to you
just
unacknowledged

Great post. And it is true that there are people all around us who may seem almost invisible.....but could be someone we ought to know.

Thanks for dropping by Angel.
The guys that work for me (Hispanic) have been teaching me how to be invisible to anglos. Realized we are surrounded by invisible people...doing their jobs...not getting noticed...but really special wonderful people. Just got to open our eyes.

how wistful you sound with your recent posts . . . and sad, or resigned, or some emotion yet unnamed. i wish you sweet dreams.

You hit the nail on the head. In the process of giving up on something and going on.

I wish others would venture. People always seem to want to defend tha status quo. That's why tha world hasn't changed much. It's human nature to stay with tha flock I think. Still, when he who ventures ahead of tha flock stays true to his flight, it often takes a few from tha flock to join tha flight before tha rest will follow, but he must be strong and fly alone until that happens.

Great thought!!!!
The problem is, sometimes, the duck hunters shoot the lead bird.

I love the quote........how do you do that?

Become invisible..or open one's eyes?
The trick to being invisible is to be very still, keep your eyes down, and wear something that signals "menial labor" or "servant".
OPpning one's eyes is a lot harder, because we are so attuned to ignoring most people around us, we just don't "see" them. Stop and talk, acknowledge what they're doing. Thank them.
