The Loss....of a Pumpkin plant...

*sad look* Yes, its official. I'm not going to have my own pumpkins this year for Halloween and Thanksgiving! *crying* After keeping the pumpkin plant alive all Spring and Summer long, its gone.

Do you know how many times that sucker has almost died on me????? Or how hard it is to keep it alive when your child plus friends and dogs/cats running through your yard????

It bloomed, such pretty flowers. All for naught! It bloomed and bloomed but no baby pumpkins. *sad face* I finally decided that even if by some miracle they did start to grow, they wouldn't amount to much so I *gasps and sobs* mowed it down.

*sigh*

I decided I might as well start anew next spring. I have lived, and I have learned. Wish me plenty of pumpkins!!!

I wish you many pumpkins next year!!! Such lovely flowers do need to be pollenized... were there any bees buzzing around? They do need to be tickled just right and only a bee buzzing in and around the flowers can do the trick... Such lovely blue eyes need not be sad but look forward to next year and raising those pumpkins like never before!!!

Remember, you have to watch what you wish for. Next year your yard might be taken over by pumpkins. Maybe you will unleash the Great Pumpkin. Good luck.

Awww...why ty! You think bees stood a chance with 3 kids running through the yard all spring and summer long? HA! Good one! Well and ummmm...I sort of forgot about that, I even went bee keeping at a pumpkin patch in my college etomology class! Can you say d'oh! lol. Well ty, I appreciate it, but they are sad more than they should be at times. *smiles*

That's to bad but don't give up, growing things is a learning experiance and there are so many things that might have caused this. Good luck next year and I hope ya are blessed with many Pumpkins

I'm pretty sure its the no bees! lol. Thank you, I think I might do some artificial pollinating next year, just to make sure I do get some pumpkins. I also have to find a better spot for them to grow, right next to my driveway prolly wasn't a good idea at the time. Like I knew they would grow from a pumpkin I left out last year!!!!!

Hmmm...that is true. Although, if its taken over by pumpkins, I wouldn't have to weedeat it right? It would choke out all the grass wouldn't it? That might not be to bad of an idea.

I could make a fortune if I had the Great Pumpkin! Linus would come and he'd bring all his friends that didn't believe in him or the Great Pumpkin. Then I could see all my pumpkins to Charlie, Peppermint Patty, Lucy, Sally, and Shroder. Not to mention PigPen and the little Redheaded girl! AND the neighborhood kids! Woooohoooooo!!!!
