And the countdown begins.....

Well, Christmas Day is zooming up on us here. That is for those that celebrate and believe in Christmas. I've got most of my shopping finished except for a couple of those hard to buy for people.

Now, on to my opinion. I am sure everyone has watched the news and how they are monitoring the President's card he and his wife are sending out. I am very into the Christmas season, always have been and hope always to be. I LOVE Christmas time all except for bad weather. A little bit I can handle, but not a whole lot. I realize that it doesn't say "Merry Christmas" but "Happy Holidays", but whats the big deal on this? Laura Bush's press secretary said that the reason for this was because they were sending this card to many people that did not celebrate Christmas. Would you rather our President and wife dishonor the holiday that some people choose or were raised to celebrate? I would think not! Yet, there is a Christmas Tree in Washington Square. Thats good! However, Bush isn't the first President to wish "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas"...Clinton did it and I don't remember the big media circus about it then. I can't remember for sure but I believe the last President that sent out a Christmas card that said "Merry Christmas" was George Bush.

Anyways...thats just my thoughts.

Now did I say I was for George Bush? No, I didn't. I was making a comment on how he wasn't the first President that sent the "Happy Holidays" but Clinton was. My thoughts are why is it such a big deal? Its his card...not mine...not yours.
