Vacation In The Berkshires

***The picture shows the unit we stayed in for our vacation. Our porch is marked by the red square***

We left late on Sunday the 9th around quarter to five in the evening. We had original planned on leaving around 3pm but due to last minute wash and me forgetting our beach towels...we were finally off...SUV packed to the maximum. Including, my son's pet turtle.

Our drive took about an hour and 15 minutes. Once we checked in and unpacked...we went out to dinner and then stopped at the grocery store for a few food items. By the time we made it back to the resort it was after 8pm so we decided to just kick back and watched the full red moon raise over the mountains from out deck porch.

When I woke the next morning I brought my hot tea out to the table on the deck porch and soaked up the view. This is one of my favorite times. I enjoy sitting there, looking at the mountains...watching the sun rise...breathing the fresh air and listening to the birds. Our third floor unit over looked the mini golf course and the outside pool area. Then around 9am we began getting ready to go to the outside pool and to get a table with an umbrella. Sunscreen or not... I can't take the sun, so shade is critical when it comes to sitting by the pool all day. That is just what we did too. From 10am to 4pm we spent our time swimming, reading, resting and talking by the pool. After dinner we spent another several hours at the indoor pools and hot tubs.

The next day was about the same however, Mr. Prag came down with a head cold. Yet we managed to find some alone time to have sex.

The next two days rained and aside from going shopping at the factory outlet stores. (My purchases were underwear and books. What a combination) We took it easy. Mr. Prag took naps in the afternoon (You know he is sick when he refuses sex.) and I read or watched TV. My son made a few friends and spent his time in the arcade or playing video games.

The last two days were similar to the first two days...we spent them at the pool (the last day they had a cookout and a DJ pool side) The music they played was a mixture of oldies, 70's, disco and the 80's. Some people would have been ashamed to admit that they actually knew the words to some of the songs but not me. I love music of all kinds. The last night we played mini golf...Mr. Prag and I even played a few arcade games. He beat me 7-5 on the air hockey and also beat me on some machine gun game. However, I was victorious on the handgun game. At which he said, "The machine must be broken." I learned that my husband is VERY competitive. So am I...but he rubs it in your face. He bought the loser (ME) a beer in the bar and we sat and drank it on the porch. Hey.... maybe I lost on purpose...you know, for the beer. Yeah, that sounds pretty good.

Oh, and all the potato salad and macaroni salad that Mr. Prag had me bring in the cooler from our CTBlogger M & G was transported in vain. I threw it out on the last day. Wouldn't it just have been easier to do that in Connecticut?

Our trip home was hot and long...Mr. Prag decided to take the long cut home and ended the trip with a stop at Carvel for an ice cream.

Many other things happened on our vacation such as the culinary disaster I was served one night at a Greek restaurant. I ordered fettuccini alfredo and received some pasta with Elmer's glue on it. It was just gross. I envisioned some cook jerking off on my pasta in some back room. My dinner that night was the side salad.

Mr. Prag caught a frog and it was the first time I ever held a frog. Strike that. I've held and kissed a lot of frogs in my time. Like most frogs, we released it back into the wild.

Then there was the one boy who decided to try and bully my son at the pool. He said he wanted to drown and kill my son over his water tube. Both my husband and I took care of that situation really quick. First, I'm a total bitch when it comes to fucking with my kids and Mr. Prag has the height advantage of any other child. Mr. Prag had words with the boy's mother who I had already sized up and knew without out a doubt that I could kick her ass if I needed to. It didn't matter that she out weighted me by 100lbs.

What is a vacation without a little colorful drama?

So here we are back safe and sound. Back to the normal everyday stuff. Housework, work, blogging etc... Now with vacation over and nothing planned for the rest of the summer...August looks like it is going to be a long month. However, I have to admit it. It is good to be home.

Missed you all!

Reminds me of family vacations I took with my family when I was a kid.

I did one last fall with my girlfriend and her kids... we went to the Florida Keys. It had a lot of the same elements as yours... though there were no thoughts of ass-kicking... Well, there was, but it was not the ass of a stranger I was thinking of...

I'm certain that Mr Prag took the "long cut" home in a very considerate attempt to prolong the vacation, thus your enjoyment. I'm certain it was a very calculated move, every mile well thought-out, and every extra moment on the road was spent thinking of you. What a guy!

Ah, Its you again, Your Angel Feathers and your Blood Stains...
