Upcoming Holiday Weekend

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .mood: reflective

Holy Shit..! Summer is almost over, and the Labor Day Weekend is next week..!

Fondly looking back at this Summer...Memorial Day weekend found us on the southern coast of Maine where we enjoyed picture-perfect weather and temperatures celebrating Mrs. Prag's 40th birthday.
The Perfect Weekendhim

We made passionate love (once, while another couple watched us from outside, through our open bedroom window)...ate seafood (at EVERY meal, including Mrs. Prag's lobster omelettes for breakfast)...went factory outlet shopping...drove and walked along the rugged, picturesque seacoast...and spent an entire wonderful morning, over an extended breakfast, meeting and talking with fantasylover_05 fantasylover_05. Happy As A Clam

Concerts were a part of our Summer. First, at Rick Springfield's I Get Excited & WHAT , and then Def Leppard and Journey...the latter serving as yet another CT Blogger's Meet & Greet. I GOT ROCKED

The 4th of July weekend was the first of two successive weekend picnics at our home. The first, being Mrs. Prags child's birthday...with all of her gay friends When Gay And Straight Collide ...followed by a Meet & Greet Picnic of the CT Bloggers. CT Bloggers Meet Greet Picnic

An over-abundance of delicious food...the warmth of the Summer air...and the enjoyment of the company and conversations with our extended families cannot be adequately described here, with mere words. Suffice to say, these are very special gatherings for both of us.

The remainder of our Summer seems to have flown by, all to quickly.

Our relaxing week in the Berkshires
Vacation In The Berkshires ...enjoying our small town's Fireman's Parade and Carnival Small Town Life ...another great CT Blogger's Meet & Greet CT Blogger's Meet GreetakaThe Big Squirt ...all of which we anxiously awaited and thoroughly enjoyed.

With a few maple trees already transitioning their leafy greenery into golds, oranges, and reds...and having to dig out our sweatshirts to wear, because of this weekend's cold, damp, suddeness...the reminder that Summer is nearing it's end, is sadly noted.

Next weekend, will find us at another of our favorite Summer activities.

About an hour's drive away from us, the Stormville (NY) Airport will be holding another holiday weekend Flea Market and Antiques Show (yes, they have a web site if you're interested).

Anywhere between 800 to 1,500 dealers of antiques and "new" merchandise will be there.

We concentrate on the "new" merchandise half of the airport grounds, which usually requires 3 to 5 hours of walking around to take it all in.

The best way to define "new" merchandise is to say that ANYTHING you can think of...books, videotapes & DVD's, CD's, clothing, shoes, furniture, tools, baked goods, food, jewelry, toys, health & beauty products, lawn ornaments, sporting goods, designer sunglasses, pocketbooks and purses, leather items of all kinds, socks, pets, etc., etc., etc...in the form of close-outs, stock liquidations and reductions, and wholesale items, will be there..!

Getting 5 DVD's (recent, nostalgic, or obscure) for $20...6 pocketbooks for $25...2 scented candles (BIG ONES) for $20...are just a few of the "bargains" we have found there.

They even have food vendors of every type you can imagine...similar to the variety and quality at the Big 'E' (Mrs. Prag LOVES the fresh-squeezed, very LARGE lemonades)...to recharge you during the day.

We haven't been down there since the 4th of July holiday weekend, last year, but it's something that we both enjoy and are looking forward to.

Even if we don't find a lot of bargains...even if we find TOO MANY bargains...it's a day-trip that we always enjoy...and will be a good way to end another great Summer.

So...what are your plans for Labor Day weekend?

Anyone want to come with us..?

HMM I love flea markets

I am sad summer is almost over I didnt make it to the beach often enough!

I'll have a cafe, mocha, vodka, valium latte to go please!

Good girls go to heaven.....bad girls go down!!

Thanks to what's left of 'Ernesto'...it doesn't look like we'll be going.

I'm beyond sad about the Summer ending...three months worth of electric bills...with the A/C running all the time, is STILL cheaper than one tank of home heating oil..!

Spending the weekend with my brother and his fiance on the lake where they live. I know it will be too much food and too much drink...but I'm up for the challenge... .

I hope the two of you have a wonderful weekend it sounds like fun!

All my best,

I was going to go see Asia at Foxwoods, more to be nice to a friend than for any other reason.

Of course technically summer doesn't start until June 20th, so Memorial Day isn't summer and it doesn't end until September 20th, so we have a few summer weekends left. In fact, September is my favorite summer month because all the rugrats and snowbirds leave the state to the rest of us.

Now if we could just clear the I-95 corridor through NL county of tractor-trailers...I'd look forward to it too..! (especially right after the bridge in Old Saybrook, when it goes from 4 lanes to 2)

Let's see, this summer, I scratched my ass and took a nap!!!

And, for one, I LOVE Labor Day. It means summer is over and beautiful autumn will soon be upon us.... YEAH!!!!

BTW, I have plenty of fleas already, but thanks for the offer.

Ah, Its you again, Your Angel Feathers and your Blood Stains...

So little to do and so much time to do it in..!

We'll have you and your fleas over at the end of October to help us rake our acre of leaves...seeing as you love autumn so much..!
