Are Values worth no more than jus dollars and cents??????

2 recent examples made me question the value of Values which Man has....
(a) A man struck a 100K lottery but kept it quiet from his wife for 2 weeks before he decided to tell her for whatever reasons he had. So wife was upset that he did not share the joy with her immediately but kept quiet till later. She shared her unhappiness with her friend who then asked her this question: Would u have been less upset if the amount of win is 1 million or 10 million rather than 100K??? The wife's answer was NO!Because the amount dont change the fact of the matter which to her is a question of trust.
I concur with the wife because even if the winning amount is 10 million, it shouldnt change the fact that her husband did not tell her first hand and when u r happy u should share ur happiness with the one u love most.....perhaps the wife is also thinking what else is he keeping mum from her......

(b)An elderly man died and left behind a small sum of money. After the funeral, his 7 children gather together to discuss the distribution of the money. According to the will, 50% goes to the wife, and the balanced amount to be divided equally among the children. So the eldest said, he will not want any part of it as it is a small sum and likewise the rest said the same except for one who wanted her share.
Now would it be any different if the elderly man has left behind a larger sum of money that runs into millions? Shouldnt the decision of whether to take a share or not be guided by one's values of filial piety, integrity etc??? So if u feel ur mom deserves the money more than anyone else, should it matter whether it is a big or small sum? So if the amount is large, then the children would take their share? Arent our actions guided by our values??? Just like stealing is wrong regardless of the amount u steal? Just like adultery is wrong regardless of how bad ur marriage is? Or should we behave and react according to circumstances? Then what are values for?????
Are values no more than just dollars and cents????

Who is to say that he was happy? And if he was a quiet reserved person before, why would money change that? Surely she knows what type of person she is by now, so why does she or any woman stay? I tell my wife all the time.....bye! This is who I am and you are welcome to leave at anytime. Life is much too short for you to be wasting time with me. She has yet to leave. So, I think some women just like BITCHING!

money creates the biggest moral scrupples. I like Bob Dylans' phrase "money don't talk, it swears"
