Making More Bread Today

Nothing is cooler then smelling fresh homemade bread being baked in the oven.

mine were 16 wheat pita's.

So great having good yeast!! (Last time i bought some big bag of yeast most of the writing in spanish. everything had a yeast flavor when i baked with it. then i kept it too long so it no longer worked. broke down last week and bought the right kind).

have you ever tried pita bread? it's rather amazing. you bake them at 500 degrees. When you toss the bread in, the heat makes it rise so fast it puffs up. Looks like a huge pillow. then you flip it. once lightly golden on both sides you pull it out. cook 1 or 2 at a time. You're standing over a hot oven the entire time though. I think you can do that with any bread recipe, if rolled into 1/4 or 1/2 inch thick rounds.

another funny thing... mom tried her entire life to teach me how to make bread. my hands were too hot..never could knead dough. it took a woman from yemen teaching me pita bread for me to learn lol. my mom was in shock the first time i made it in front of her ("Are you really my daughter? Did you do this YOURSELF? no HELP?!" lol)

fairly easy. the most troublesome is standing over the oven. it's not like you can set a timer and wander away. I will email you the recipe I found the other day. some are better than others. Unfortunately I don't know what I did with the recipe given by my yemeni friend.
