ARTEMIS AND THE POET.

ARTEMIS AND THE POET.

She smiles in gentle showing
Aware of her strengths and natural draw
Such power is within instinctive knowing
The habitual trail of the manly spoor

In hunger is the crazed beast alert
To suckle on the breast of woman’s glow
Man-child is stricken in his childish hurt
Her lips are drawn to Cupids’ bow

Skilled in the practice of sensuality
She knows how to tame the savage heart
Allowing the target to flaunt an eventuality
Before loosing the famed arrowed dart

But the poet is never to be scrapped
His gentle smile in response is the same
His trail is the draw to have a lady trapped
Hunter is the hunted in this loves’ game

Oh, find yourself the strangest beast
Unlike any prey the sharp look has espied
It might be the poet who, on love, does feast
Not arrowed in heart and, for love, has died

She sits
at the edge of the wood
silent, still
... and waits ...

crossbow drawn
as tight as she
splendor is near
she smells it ...

maddening rush
blood cursed heart
the spoor
has led her here ...

prey
predator
and she ...

There is a total excitement in the way you write, the slight, alert moves, eyes alive to a concentrated target... My God, you would frighten a weak heart, I thank the Lord I have a large phallic shield which deflects the bolt and will draw Artemis into a closer interaction...
