Had a meeting set up with a couple last night. Checked into the hotel and sent them a message with the room and phone number. They never even called or emailed. Does this happen often? I suspect it might not have been a couple after all. Anyone out there have this happen to them any and how do you prevent it. This is the first time it has happened to me.

Yes ... back in the days when my wife and I were active swingers, that was one of the things which discouraged us from traveling to meet, even after all the arrangements were supposed to have been secured. We'd met a couple socially twice, had dinner and drinks, and all decided that the next meeting would be at a hotel in Silver Spring, MD. They'd apparently made the reservation, because we arrived at the appointed time and place, both of us looking forward to the "grand opening", and they didn't show; also couldn't be reached by phone. The room was reserved, but we waited for a couple of hours and drove back home, 90 miles at 11PM, totally disgusted. We didn't even try to contact them again, nor they us. I have other stories about meetings that went all to hell too, so it happens.
