The Dark One...........

Just like the seasons, time goes on, and the deep rooted personalities inside my head revolve; a romantic, a comic, a Stoic, a curmudgeon, a philosopher, a historian, a writer, a reader, a lover, a comic; but the darkest of all, the un-named one.

Dark and sinister, he lurks, waiting for an opportunity. A comment, a look, an unexpected thought and he is HERE. Those cold tentacles, so familiar but so unwelcome reach up and grab my heart. The more I fight, the more he pulls me down. Holding me in the DARKNESS.

I started my writings Into the abyss in the very grips of his madness, but slowly the light came, I awoke, and returned to the land of the living A light commeth. Now he is back, I am pulled into the depths.

Writing is a challenge and takes all my strength. With each word, I am pulled from the light, down, a spiral, the only light a small prick through the cold and hard empty space. A reflection of light on a black pool, ripling, unreal, and forever changing.

My head low, light out, I wait......

From where ever you write, you succeed in bringing the reader with you. The un-named one...I understand him. I appreciate them all, but the darkest, I understand. Be not afraid. He is only a part of the beauty that is inside you. He must exist for the others to exist. I wish you no pain but know you must endure pain to be the complete you.

It depends on what I'm writing. Most of the time, it just has to flow, but I have to feel what I'm writing for me to really express myself.

For me, when writing is too much of a challenge, I will walk away from it for a bit, clear my head and focus on whatever it is which has drawn me away. Writing has to be enjoyable and a stress reliever, almost like a lover. I love it when some thought just pops into my head and the words can't be typed or written quick enough before it is my own little masterpiece (in my mind anyways)! Come back into the light, hun, you have friends there...the darkness should only be visited for brief moments in time, methinks
