Happy Mother's Day

So I got up this morning wished my wife a wonderful happy mother's day. As I poured a cup of coffee I wondered to myself why do we only have one day a year in which we celebrate moms and all they do for the entire family.

I then set out to cook breakfast, clean the house, wash fold and put away the clothes, asked the kids four times to help me clean up or put clothes away and was ignored four times by said kids, went grocery shopping, cooked filet mignon and baked potatoes with sour cream and butter just the way she likes it, then cleaned up after the mess I had made in the kitchen, folded some more clothes, tried unsuccessfully to mediate an argument between the kids only to be scoffed at for my efforts. All while she sat on her butt watching TV.

Just now it hit me why we only celebrate moms once a day. Us men can't handle the role reversal. Happy mother's day to all of you wonderful mothers, you deserve the day off, believe me I know.
