Free Time 2.

It's not that I don't want to have some time to myself, but this is always a very busy time of year for us. Most of the German associations have their annual meetings in the first four months of the year, and for someone who is active in one association or another, attendance is of vital importance. Then there are the preparations for community elections next year - the parties are gathering their faithful and putting together manifestos right now; and I can't duck out of that either since I'm one of the main candidates and help to write the manifesto for my political party.

All is, however, not lost. In June I plan on spending a long weekend tucked away in a small town in Poland. Just me and a few hundred others. It is a form of rest, a form of holiday. Our partner town has invited us to visit (40 have accepted) along with members from three other partner towns. There will be a massive festival, everyone will get to know one another; friendships and business partnerships will be forged and followed through with once we get back to home soil.

Now, this may not sound like a holiday to some people, but it is for me. I can look forward to Chopin concerts (he lived there, in this town, for some years); dinner parties; dancing (old fashioned, not this modern disco stuff); plenty of red wine and probably a complete box of my favourite cigars.

Or should I settle myself in front of my computer, as I am now, writing the things which keep me alive and well fed, and answering countless e-mails, telephone calls and requests for my time?

I think I'll be in Poland!

I am gratefull that you manage your time well enough to post on here. Is there a website for your political party?
