I love the all, the all of you...

Sometimes it takes something as simple as a call from your Mom, and a simple “I love you!” to make your day! We don’t do enough for our Mothers! No matter what you do for your Mom, it just isn’t enough to repay her for all the sleepless nights she spent up scared while you were out doing whatever disgusting thing you were doing! The endless cycle of working days and cleaning nights was probably terrible… but the worst is the heartache.
See, I’m Jewish, more accurately my Av (father) was Jewish. So, I’m half Jewish. Kinda! See, in Judaism, it is difficult to be a considered Jewish if your 'Em (Mom)isn't Jewish.
But it broke my Roman Catholic mama’s heart when she was no longer aloud to attend Sunday mass because of her and my Dad’s divorce. Worse, her only infant son would never be confirmed by a priest or have his bar mitzvah. To Mom, this was devastating!
But what Mom didn’t know then, is that her son would grow up and study theology at the U. He would be enlightened by truths not taught to most, and facts denied by more. Not because he had to by birthright, but because he wanted to know.
So, you see? Even in what Mom wasn’t allowed to give me through the church, she in fact gave me without it. So, even for us not-so-religious-types today might be a good day to be truly thankful for the sometimes forgotten yet, universal message of unconditional love for all.
I propose that those of us, who are able, tell someone today that you love them. And if you can’t tell anyone… tell yourself.

Thy love is better than high birth to me,
Richer than wealth, prouder than garments' cost,
Of more delight than hawks or horses be;
And having thee, of all men's pride I boast:
Wretched in this alone, that thou mayst take
All this away and me most wretched make.
