The reason Men Cheat?

Hmmm... thought that would catch your attention!

I read an article on a tech web site the other day. The article states that men who were shown pictures of beautiful women were more likely to behave irrationally. They did a study with 176 heterosexual men aged 18 to 28 to test their fair play on a financial game. They also said that men who have higher testosterone levels performed worse on the test. They said that one indication of men with higher testosterone levels was that their ring finger was longer than their index finger. Guess what?

"If there are no cues around, they behave normally. But if they see sexual images they become impulsive."

"The researchers are conducting similar tests with women. But so far, they have failed to find a visual stimulus which will affect their behaviour."

"The fact men are distracted by sexual cues fits in to evolutionary experience. It's what they are expected to do. They are looking for opportunities to pass on their genes."

Hmmm... That's interesting. I can see men worldwide now cheating on their wives and being like "hey, it's not my fault I have high testosterone levels!" Of course I've been in a box for 30 years, maybe they already say that. Opinions?

ive always believed its DNA. no matter how long we've been walking upright, our DNA is still that of cave-people...we still have 'instincts' encoded on our DNA that were designed for our survival.

the males biggest 'tool' (pun intended) is the desire to spread his seed, in order to ensure the survival of the species. that twitching impulse is simply instinct.

BUT! ..yes, theres always a but...

having an instinct does not require acting upon it, nor does it mean its an irresistable force. we can choose how we do or do not behave. its the choosing that makes us civilized. its the choosing that allows us to evolve & keeps us from living in caves

Yeah, I left out the part where they talk about being able to control it, cause that wouldn't have been as fun! But your right.
