nightmares

had a doozy of a bad dream last nite, can't recall a lot of it now,but i recall driving with my hubby and my mom along a local road, swerving around various walkers (no sidewalks, or streetlights, and it was night time) and children skipping, and we come to this sharp turn, believe there to be nothing on the road, and as we turn, into the headlights view, i see children laying on the road side by side with thier eyes closed( among them my daughter) and we swerve off to the side and as we crash and bump over several bodies (knowing for some reason they are already dead)i awoke with a horrible scream, brathing heavily and my heart pounding.....
took forever to get back to sleep,it seemed so real, right down to the clothes people were wearing.....
i used to have nightmares all the time as a child, about various things, vampires, being chased by cartoon bad guys, things like that, and always in these dreams i would try to run,but i would all of a sudden be in slow motion,or for some reason,i was utterly frozen....
i've often read articles on dream interprtation and am not sure if i believe my subconscious is trying to tell me things or not...

(it's probably the salsa dip and nachos before i went to bed...lol)
would be interested to hear any scary dreams any of you have had....did you think they meant something? did any of your dreams have recurring themes?
do you see yourself in your dreams or is it usually a "first person" view through your eyes?
would be interested to hear any comments at all....

I chose not to think of my scary dreams and just pass them off as my imagination running wild. I would rather be a positive person than a negative one.

Until later

I had a terrible nightmare before I got married. For some reason I was on a date with someone else and saw my hubby to be in the same restaurant with someone else. While I knew who he was, he seemed to have no idea who I was. I remember waking up crying...

Yeah, I know, not really a nightmare but it scared me half to death. A woman getting married is emotional enough

i hear you midora......i think the relevance has more to do with how the dream makes you feel than what actually happens in it. i'm sure we've all "dream cheated" once or twice.....lol
i sincerely think you don't have anything to worry about in that vain,though....*wink* as long as you wake up and he's still sleeping beside you.....

thanx for the post 2daycowboywanted! I suppose it is a bit of a waste of time to contemplate such negative things in the long run.....puts me in mind of the book Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenence.......one can ponder on things so much that it becomes dangerously obsessive....
*scratching head* i wonder if thinking about thinking qualifies as being negatively obsessive....lol
I whole heartedly agree there are nicer things one can spend their brain power on.....i'm sure you could think of several being the positive person you are...
cheers!

..................... if I do indeed dream...
my dreams r usually pretty off the wall
and I end up getting ideas to do things durning them
and it usually ends up being a good idea
my last one that I can remember was how I changed my home around
I even got up and drew it out on paper
and there it was beside the bed when I woke up the next day...
So we rearranged my place almost completely as I had draw it out and dreamed that I had done
and I actually finally feel like I am now closer at
getting my house nearer to a home...I like it and so does everyone else
